Though Fitbit One is a popular product, as we introduce new products, we occasionally make changes to our product line to keep you on track with the most up-to-date health and fitness tracking tools.

As a result, we no longer sell the One. We recommend considering the other discreet options we offer- Fitbit Zip, if you prefer a clip-based tracker or Fitbit Flex 2 if you prefer a slim, wrist-based tracker. Or, take our quiz on http://www.fitbit.com/compare to see which device meets your needs best.

Please note that we will continue to support the One and, if necessary, provide replacements for devices in warranty.

We do know there are many fans of the One who would like to discuss alternatives and have created this thread for discussion and merged a few posts together. Please keep in mind Community Guidelines when posting. 

At this time, feedback has been shared on the One status and there are no plans to bring this particular tracker back at this time, we will not be able to comment further.

No, no, no. You've made those suggestions in the past and they've all been rejected. None of the alternatives provide the unique features that we get in the One. Please, your company must see that there is tremendous interest in continuing this much-loved product.

I wrote an email to Fitbit about how many people like the One and don't want to see it discontinued.  It will be interesting to see if they reply to my email.  I find it odd that so few Fitbit products track flights of stairs.  I wonder if that particular bit of the technology is more difficult/problematic/expensive to implement in a device?

@CMCM ~ Mine counted each time I got into and out of my Jeep Wrangler as a flight of stairs. My Jeep is lifted by 3 1/2 inches not a flight of stairs. Also, I went on vacation and took a 4 wheeler trail ride. My One counted 35 flights of stairs for an hour long ride. I was sitting still. So, my One always was off on stairs.

Zip has terrible battery life.

Exactly what I have been seeing with a brand new zip.  Received it from fitbit about a week ago, set it up but only used it today and low and behold, the battery is already low.  Not happy at this point.

Will be surprised if Fitbit introduces a new non-wristband replacement for the One.  Taking the One off the market while continuing to sell the terrible Zip and a confusing array of wristband products shows that the company has no regard for its customers who helped make it successful.  They just don't get that not everyone wants to wear a geeky wristband all the time.  The One could be carried all day discretely, had a rechargeable battery, and monitored stairs, sleep, and activity time, in addition to steps.  I think that many of us are looking for a replacement with those same features -- whether that is from Fitbit or a competitor.

The One is unique in how tiny it is.  You can clip it on your bra and forget about it all day, you don't feel or notice it.  When I go skiing I can slip it into my ski pants pocket and zip it up so the one won't fall out.  But usually I wear it.  I would not like something larger hanging around my neck.  I want the steps and stair counting.  Good grief, why doesn't the company "get it" about this particular product.  I never wanted any of the other trackers because I didn't like the bands or other big devices that clipped onto your jeans or something.  I finally bought the One precisely because of its attributes and its small size.  Everything about it was perfect, or nearly so.

I had zip originally but changed to one as it's rechargeable and measures stairs climbed, also found it more reliable.

I was told that Fitbit sold the license to the One to a third party.  Ironic that all Fitbit Ones stopped working and are out of warranty while the third party that purchased the One is now charging almost three times the original purchase price.

Hello everyone! Thanks for all of your comments and feedback so far.

So, I was making some research lately on the Feature Suggestions Board and I was able to find a couple of interesting ideas pointing to the future. The first one is to release a clip-on accessory for other Fitbit trackers (which I find very interesting). The second one is to make a future clip-on tracker with more features. You can vote for these ideas and make the suggestions stronger. 

Also, if non of those ideas really fit what you need, you can always create a new suggestion. Just avoid asking to bring back the One as that suggestion is marked as "Not Currently Planned".

This does not surprise me.  If you just do some preliminary searches on the product, the two people who started the company, and where the stock is, what are the projections for Fitbit and how much the company is valued for from the start on the NYSE and now it is very interesting.  Further, it's focus on tracking for medical conglomerates, etc.  

It's too bad, again, that a product that so many loved, and was so popular, has to take a hit because of avarice.  

I'm sure someone will say that when automatic transmissions were a Super Improvement over manual, but there are still gazillions of manual transmission vehicles.  Ford, GM and Chrysler didn't suddenly decide that manual transmissions  were verboten and never again to be manufactured - (sorry, only comparison I could come up with at the moment), they kept those manual transmissions because they knew their target market wanted and needed them - large trucks, tractors, pickups, 4WD etc.  and automobiles.  

I cannot hazard a guess about the reason for dropping the One and keeping the Zip.  

I'm pretty confident that someone will pick up the baton and find something to replace the One, at least I hope so.

I'm hoping they'll come

out with a Two or something similar within the next year, otherwise I'll buy something else. 

I have a Zip for now...

I wanted a One so much and when I was going to finally buy one, I learned they were being discontinued, so I chose not to buy a One. It's the only kind/type of Fitbit that I want to buy.  Period.  Wrist trackers are not an option for me.
