One Availability and Alternatives

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Though Fitbit One is a popular product, as we introduce new products, we occasionally make changes to our product line to keep you on track with the most up-to-date health and fitness tracking tools.

As a result, we no longer sell the One. We recommend considering the other discreet options we offer- Fitbit Zip, if you prefer a clip-based tracker or Fitbit Flex 2 if you prefer a slim, wrist-based tracker. Or, take our quiz on http://www.fitbit.com/compare to see which device meets your needs best.

Please note that we will continue to support the One and, if necessary, provide replacements for devices in warranty.

We do know there are many fans of the One who would like to discuss alternatives and have created this thread for discussion and merged a few posts together. Please keep in mind Community Guidelines when posting.

At this time, feedback has been shared on the One status and there are no plans to bring this particular tracker back at this time, we will not be able to comment further.

We apologize for any inconvenience and hope we can continue to provide you with Fitbit trackers you love and help you reach your goals.

Brian, my guess is they simply don't care about old customers and are only in new customers who buy very, very expensive products to satisfy their new shareholders instead of their customers.

If I wanted a watch type, I wouldn't buy a fitbit. I like my One.
Fortunately, I bought a One about 6 months ago, so I might be safe for a year. They can think during that time, and perhaps, get a new perspective

I use my hands for work and tried using a wrist base tracker about 3 years ago, the steps were off by thousands.  So I found the One and was so happy.  I can't tell you how disappointed I am that Fitbit has 5 wrist based options and 1 clip on.  The Zip doesn't even come close in terms of usability and functionality that the One has.  I love that the One is small and clips easily in my pocket.  I get accurate step counts without worrying I'm missing them (when I'm carrying something) or over counting when my hands are in use. And I get my stair count. I hope that Fitbit rethinks taking this and brings it back.  Seems like there are plenty of people who are interested in remaining their customer.

If Fitbit does bring back the One or something similar - how about a pretty clip instead of just burgundy or black?  Something light or translucent, sparkly and thinner that hides under clothing better.

I'm ok with color choice, what I would like to see is a more secure way to attach it. Mine slips off my belt often. If I put in pocket, might forget and wash it. Maybe a small pouch that wraps fully around belt.

Unfortunately, Fitbit has stopped caring about what their users actually want, and seem focused on items that break often, or can sell accessories with it. I love my One, and can see where there's no money in it for Fitbit, other than the original $100, as well as replacing the clip every so often.

They also say they'd take into consideration of bringing back the option of opting out of being in the friends ranking. Never happened. I've changed all my settings to be very secure, so not even my friends can view my info.. but guess what. They can still see me in their rankings list with that same info I just marked as private. The only way to actually  fix it (other than Fitbit bringing that option back) is to unfriend all of your current Fitbit friends.

I used to tell anyone who would listen about how great fitbit is.. and I've been with them since the Ultra. Not anymore. It's obvious that they don't actually care about what their customers want. I'm still floored to find out that they discontinued the One. Huge improvement over the Ultra, and I was very impressed at the improvement. Apparently the improvement didn't bring in enough money on a regular basis for them.. so it had to go.

I now need another clip for my One, since the end piece seems to keep falling off, and i finally lost it after the super glue stopped holding. Now I see that I can't even buy a new holder? Ugh..Fitbit, you've let me down more than you'll ever know.

By the way, not everyone can wear things on their wrists. I have tendinitis, and wearing anything on my wrists aggravates it. Not all of us want to show the world we're being healthy by using an expensive pedometer on our wrist. I clip mine on the inside of my pocket & forget about it until i change my clothes, and it goes into the next pocket.

Happily, Amazon.com has third-party clips. They last just about as long as the FitBit version, and they're a lot cheaper.

Thank you!

Why isn't Fitbit just making a tracker that can be put in a clip or a wrist band?   That would make the most sense and fit the widest market segment.

The clips offered through Amazon are cheaper and work just as well.

You can get a 3rd party belt clip for the Alta, which is a little bigger than the One.  However the Alta doesn't have the floors, which I want.  I started with the Ulta and when to the One.  Not interested in wearing anything on my wrist.  The One was perfect for all occasions and fit my needs.

Hello everyone! Thanks for sharing the alternatives and solutions you have found regarding the availability of the Fitbit One.

As of now, I don't have any updates regarding this topic. However, rest assured that once I get some I will update you all as soon as possible!

For the moment, I must suggest to keep voting for the ideas pointing to the future, this is the way to go for us, Fitbit users, to keep asking what we would like to have.

So, while checking the Feature Suggestions Board, I was able to find a couple of interesting ideas. The first one is to release a clip-on accessory for other Fitbit trackers. The second one is to make a future clip-on tracker with more features. The more votes the better.

Also, if non of those ideas really ask for what you need, you can always create a new suggestion for a future Fitbit product.

I also see that some of you are asking if the Feature Suggestions Board really works to ask for what you want to see in the future. I'd recommend checking this infographic showing the feature suggestions that have been implemented over the years.

You can also check the 11 pages filled with suggestions that have been implemented. The best new features came out from customers ideas on that board. Smiley Wink

All these people on this thread should definitely head to the suggestions
page and vote for the suggestion that Fitbit develop a new clip on
tracker. Currently, there are only 87 votes.

So I am guessing by your post of posting our issue on the suggestion board, that posting to this forum is totally useless. Perhaps the Fitbit moderator should take the 530 plus posts and share it with Fitbit upper management. It is plainly obvious that they will loose customers by not having a clip on that is the same as the One or better. Fitbit used to be the leader in the industry. They are, no longer and it is probably because they seem to ignore their loyal customers that are into fitness as a lifestyle and not simply into the latest fad, AKA wrist trackers that are notoriously inaccurate.

Thank you, Santi. I have voted for both.

It would be great if you could post those links on the other One threads, so that more people can see them.

And folks, if you haven't voted yet, get over there and to it!

Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong thing, but all of the forums/posts I see regarding clip accessories or clip-on trackers have been marked as "not under consideration" so...what's the point in voting?

Is your comment, your vote? I don't see a way to vote?

Found it!  Sorry.  I expected to see it by the comment, like on the other area of this forum.

Do our votes and suggestions ever make it any further than the 27 pages (and counting) of this forum topic?  And how many other long-running, well-populated topics are there about the demise of the One, and the total apathy towards Fitbit customers that's being displayed?

Are we just wasting our time?

I'm 100% sure we are, but I'd be willing to be persuaded otherwise.  A statement from a VP level in reaction to all the noise about the death of the One, indicating that they're at least marginally aware of their customers would go a loooooong way. .

But, Fitbit execs have made it perfectly clear that they have no interest in pursuing the clip-on market, and the ZIP is a big <expletive deleted> to anyone who wants a clip-on from Fitbit.

And, yeah, for all the good it'll do, I've voted for any suggestion even vaguely in favor of returning the One or replacing it with a new-and-improved clip-on tracker.

I clicked on the the thumbs up which I *think* is the way to vote ... but one suggestion had just 33 votes, the other 89.

When you consider the pages and pages of feelings on this thread... there should be a heap more. So alas... unless those particular suggestions get any more votes, all our sharing of our dismay at the discontinuation of the One will come to nothing.

The Alta and a third party clip is the closest alternative but will lack floors climbed... but if you desperately want to keep Fitbit friend and participation in any challenges, I suspect that is the only way you would be able to maintain those.
