One Availability and Alternatives

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Though Fitbit One is a popular product, as we introduce new products, we occasionally make changes to our product line to keep you on track with the most up-to-date health and fitness tracking tools.

As a result, we no longer sell the One. We recommend considering the other discreet options we offer- Fitbit Zip, if you prefer a clip-based tracker or Fitbit Flex 2 if you prefer a slim, wrist-based tracker. Or, take our quiz on http://www.fitbit.com/compare to see which device meets your needs best.

Please note that we will continue to support the One and, if necessary, provide replacements for devices in warranty.

We do know there are many fans of the One who would like to discuss alternatives and have created this thread for discussion and merged a few posts together. Please keep in mind Community Guidelines when posting.

At this time, feedback has been shared on the One status and there are no plans to bring this particular tracker back at this time, we will not be able to comment further.

We apologize for any inconvenience and hope we can continue to provide you with Fitbit trackers you love and help you reach your goals.

No, it does not make sense at ALL. Why would a company do this, especially
with all the complaints in here. Obviously, they don't read and /or don't
care if they lose those of us who will go elsewhere. Considering the
competition, they SHOULD want to keep EVERY customer they have! 😠

Except that the Versa is yet another **ahem** watch.  All of the wrist-worn devices do not accurately count steps:  If I brush my dog, it's counting steps.  If an musician plays an instrument, its counting steps.  But if you are carrying something, like a child or books or anything, it doesn't count steps.  If you push a shopping card or pull your luggage through the airport, it doesn't count any steps.  The only device that accurately counted steps is a clip.  The One also counts stairs, with I really liked.

Ive done the live chat and also talked to Support in person about doing a reset. The response about what will happen about the One being dropped and the answer was it is gone. They plan on supporting it for now but who knows for how long. That one the man couldn't answer.

Hello ScrapjenB,

thanks for that detailed comparison .

i still don’t understand Fitbit’s refusal to own the clipon market when aftermarket Ones are going for 150% of the original price

Thanks MaryClaire3,

I will keep that in mind. My 3x lost and found One is still hanging in there for now.

I continue to use my Fitbit One for just basic purposes. I check my G on a daily basis and I monitor my sleep cycle almost every night and use it to develop any possible correlation data between the One and the more formal Sleep Apnea Machine program. There really isn’t a correlation, as the Sleep Apnea Machine Program is very sophisticated compared to the One. I just feel that I know the One program and feel more comfortable with it.

It's a watch, don't want to wear two watches so I can count my steps! When I had the One I kept it in my pocket and it worked great. Didn't use the clip on.

Seems that way. It;s a shame, I like the platform a lot and used it for 7 years. But the watches don't work. Oh well on to Garmin or something like that I guess.

Could you recommend the best options for replacing the Fitbit One?  My wife got me a One a few years ago and it greatly improved my health. The Fitbit Zip is unnecessarily large and I don’t wear anything on my wrist.

If Fitbit is choosing to no longer make a discreet clip-on tracker (Zip is too big), is another company making a clip-on tracker as small as the Fitbit One?

ekrub,

I've found the Alta to be pretty decent.  Doesn't track stairs, but otherwise does everything the One did.  I bought a third-party clip for it, and use the supplied band to wear it overnight for sleep tracking.  No need to get the HR model if you're wearing it on a clip.  The clip, I bought from Amazon, and as near as I can tell, the brand name is "Tomall".  I've been using it for about three months, and it's still holding up well.

you can get the fitbit one on ebay for a good price. It will still work with the fitbit app even though they are not selling it anymore.

So clearly FITBIT is not interested in anyone's need for a non-wristbased tracker. I require a tracker for my health program at work, and I cannot wear wrist-based units.  Therefore, I will be looking for alternatives.

Have any of you found anything out there that would be a suitable replacement for those of us that are not able to use wrist trackers?

I'm with the rest of the community. The Fitbit Zip is a pretty pathetic replacement for the Fitbit One.   The Fitbit One was full featured.  The Alta lacks features.   Bring back the One or update the Alta.  You're going to start losing Fitbit customers as they move to other devices because Fitbit is not listening to its community.

Oh, this is my worst fear realized and such disappointing news (I guess it's not breaking news). I've used my Fitbit One every day for four years and my clip has finally worn out. I was considering getting a new device (rather than an after market clip) and now I find out you're not selling them anymore. I'm bothered by things on my wrist so the wrist devices are just not for me. The One is so slim (unlike the clunky Zip) and the battery lasts a couple of weeks (my coworkers have to charge their wrist devices every few days). Please bring back the One for those of us who don't want the wrist ones! Thanks!

Hi karensky,

Treasure your One and buy a nice bright after market clip so you can find your One if it drops because it is not easy to get one for less than 180$:)

Hello Charluebart,

do you find the restless times in The One correlate with restless times on your Sleep Apbea machine program?
