Though Fitbit One is a popular product, as we introduce new products, we occasionally make changes to our product line to keep you on track with the most up-to-date health and fitness tracking tools.
As a result, we no longer sell the One. We recommend considering the other discreet options we offer- Fitbit Zip, if you prefer a clip-based tracker or Fitbit Flex 2 if you prefer a slim, wrist-based tracker. Or, take our quiz on http://www.fitbit.com/compare to see which device meets your needs best.
We apologize for any inconvenience and hope we can continue to provide you with Fitbit trackers you love and help you reach your goals.

So ... a funny thing happened on the way to quarterly stock reports.

That's as may be....but the one thing they can't do (without third-party clips/accessories) is be out of sight and off our wrists. Let me explain a bit...
A wrist tracker is fine for those who don't have a physically demanding and/or dangerous job. There are many jobs where it's not only mandatory, but it's also a good idea, to not have any jewelry on your arms and hands, due to the risk of said jewelry increasing the risk of injury and/or dismemberment.
And then there's those who just do not like to wear things on their wrists. Be it for aesthetic reasons, allergies to the materials (me!) or any other reason. Nobody should have to explain themselves on this one.
And then there's those who would prefer to wear a nice wristwatch instead of a plastic band and a light-up display. Or maybe they're prefer to wear one of the smart watches that are becoming more and more popular. And some people just don't want to advertise that they're wearing a fitness tracker, much less advertise the company that manufactured it. Of course, as Fitbit has stated, they want people to wear their devices and advertise for them...and The One in someone's pocket or clipped to a bra just doesn't do that for them.
And you're right about the Zip. It's just a pedometer with delusions of grandeur, completely out of place with the rests of the products Fitbit offers. It's more of a toy than anything else.

Really? Such as?
The One does everything I need, including tracking stairs; it's accurate (unlike, from what I keep reading here, any of the wrist-based trackers), and, most importantly, I can wear it anywhere. All of the wrist trackers are too big for my wrist, none of them look right with business attire, and I prefer to wear my watch. Dropping it makes no sense.

Terrible. The zip is lousy and not rechargeable. Many people would like a non showing device if you would have marketed it like that. 😞

The One is also quite sturdy. Today mine went through the wash for the third time (yikes !) and is still functioning! It's a great device, can't understand their decision, either.

The company has no outstanding debt and could last eight years. However, each quarter the cash runway grows smaller. Fit's reluctance to bring the One back -- (market it as the One II) or One 2... I have to be cautious about writing my last four posts were pulled.

My new go to clip on tracker (when my One dies) Garmin Vivofit 3 in belt clip accessory by Garmin (not aftermarket). Does everything the One does except stair count. Is waterproof. Can be paired with chest strap HRM. See Message 718 page 36 and Message 604 page 31 for additional information.
Good Luck to all of us that love our One.

Suzana12: You missed the point of what our main complaint is on this thread.
There are some of us here who either do not or can not wear a wrist tracker.
The only clip-on option available to us now is the Zip which is basically garbage compared to the One.
The One had everything I wanted and needed.

Is Fitbit One being discontinued? I don't see it on the store as an option to buy anymore? If so, why? Not everyone wants something on their wrist...and the Zip doesn't offer as much info.
