Though Fitbit One is a popular product, as we introduce new products, we occasionally make changes to our product line to keep you on track with the most up-to-date health and fitness tracking tools.

As a result, we no longer sell the One. We recommend considering the other discreet options we offer- Fitbit Zip, if you prefer a clip-based tracker or Fitbit Flex 2 if you prefer a slim, wrist-based tracker. Or, take our quiz on http://www.fitbit.com/compare to see which device meets your needs best.

Please note that we will continue to support the One and, if necessary, provide replacements for devices in warranty.

We do know there are many fans of the One who would like to discuss alternatives and have created this thread for discussion and merged a few posts together. Please keep in mind Community Guidelines when posting. 

At this time, feedback has been shared on the One status and there are no plans to bring this particular tracker back at this time, we will not be able to comment further.

I would vote for your post a hundred times! I paid over $100.00 to Fitbit. I too thought it was my phone. I have had a Fitbit One since 2013 and not one problem. Once they new they were going to discontinue the zone they should have let customers know when they were ordering. Buying a new One does not fix the problem they made with syncing in the update. 🤬

similar experience on my side: stopping the IOS synconization in favor of a "FitBit Connect" application does not resolve at all the most recent battery issue. Either there is also a bug in the Fitbit Connect synchronization on Windows and on Mac (I tried both), either the flaw is in the firmware. Either it is a total coincidence and my device battery dies brutally right after the firmware upgrade, but this looks highly improbable.

@KateFitbit I have a few technical questions for your engineers about the charging:

- is the firmware software taking any decision on detecting "when to stop charging" and "when is the battery empty". Was there any change of firmware code in that respect? Is the detection on battery state taken dynamically (eg based on sensors) or is the device firmware also "memorizing" what it considered to be the battery life, reducing over time? In the latter scenario, could it be that the device firmware has erroneously reduced the battery life expectation after having suffered from the higher demand with either the firmware installation process or by IOS sync? Is there a way to "factory reset" that memory?

- when we turn off the device (maintaining the Fitbit One button for 12 seconds when charging), and keep it plugged, is it still physically charging? Or should we let the device "on, up and running" while charging? What is the recommendation?

@lgerdy be disappointed but don't be angry: as you purchased your device recently, it is under guarantee and the Fitbit support is commercially excellent: in your case, if there is no way to unblock the device, you will probably receive a choice between replacement device or 25% rebate.

I just checked and the Zip is no longer available in The Netherlands. I
just think that is funny because fitbit told me to buy one.

I love fitbit and their products, but I carry my One in my pocket when I'm going anywhere my Surge is too ugly for.  Discreetly worn trackers are important in the fitbit ecosystem because wrist worn trackers are not always an appropriate option.  And in terms of appearance, the Ionic did not close the gap with the Apple Watch.  

Speaking of Apple...  Since fitbit still will not play with Healthkit, the Garmin Vivoactive 3 is looking to be a good alternative to replacing my Surge that is slowly giving up the ghost.

I've read the issues and if Fitbit One is no longer supported and discontinued I plan on finding another tracker from another company. Thanks Fitbit for bailing on so many of us who have been using Fitbit One since its introduction.

Yep, I'll probably be gone if/when my FB One dies out.  I've been a member of this community since 2014.  I'm not a wristband gal for a variety of reasons;like the simplistic approach of having the One in my pocket. Love the one for the stair climbing feature as I do a lot of that during the day.  so without that feature and not liking the show of a wrist product I'm sure I can find something adequate that will fit in my pocket and may even be less expensive.  I doubt that the One will be brought back because typically when a company moves in another direction they don't travel back.  It's too bad and nice to see I'm not the only one that feels this way.

I wish Fitbit would have considered people who are dedicated to the One before discontinuing it.  There should have been a comparable option that offers all the features of the One and then some if needed, not less features.  I have had my Fitbit One for 3.5 years now and after calling, my options are take a less attractive alternative to the One or do a wrist tracker.  I wear a watch and will not invest in a wrist tracker so I am definitely bummed that I won't be able to continue being a Fitbit user if a comparable One tracker isn't released.

If I in fact had an extra $200 to spend on myself, it would be for a beautiful bracelet for my wrist instead. I am so so so so sad that the One is done. I can’t help but think Fitbit is just going to out pric  themselves, and their fitness fad will be over. A reasonably priced option would be so appreciated!

This is all sad.  I myself bought the One in February 2016 precisely because of its features (including stairs), I liked its small screen as opposed to the one with no screen, and most of all, I liked it because it was very small and NOT on an ugly band.  Bracelets bug me anyway so I would never buy the bracelet type, and Fitbit's other small tracker isn't small enough to clip on a bra like the One and it doesn't track stairs so I have zero interest in that product.  So was the One not as popular as we on these forums would like to think?  Did it not sell well enough to keep it going?  Was it too small electronically to keep tweaking its firmware and app?  It's a mystery why it was discontinued so abruptly, although price could be part of it.  The new Fitbits are way more costly than the One ever was.  In any case, I would buy another One right now if it worked right, but there is nothing else in the Fitbit lineup that I would want so I won't be buying anything else.  Of course the Amazon scalpers are in action with what few Ones are remaining out there.  Perhaps another company will dream up something similar to the One since there would no longer be competition from Fitbit.

FitBit seems to be shifting their focus entirely toward wristband devices. That means anyone who can't wear a wristband device is out of luck. I walk at a treadmill desk with my hands on the keyboard so I can type while I walk. My arms don't swing back and forth at all, so a wristband device is completely useless for me because it won't count any of my steps. Wristband trackers are also useless for mothers pushing strollers, or for anyone who works in the kind of job where their hands or arms are likely to get wet throughout the day (such as a restaurant job).

It's very frustrating that FitBit has decided to abandon this entire segment of the market. I've bought three FitBit Ones for myself over the years, and have bought them for others in my family as gifts. The Zip model is not an adequate substitute for the One. If FitBit doesn't come out with an adequate replacement, I'm not going to give more money to this company. I'm not going to pay even more for an Alta and a third-party belt clip to put it in. I've been a devoted customer for several years. It will be sad to lose all my accumulated data (I've walked over 16 MILLION steps with my FitBit!) but when my current One dies, I'll finally have to look at other companies' products instead.

I don't understand why fitbit has discontinued the One. The Zip doesn't do as much as the One. I like my fitbit One. I don't want the watch style fitbit if my One ever wears out. I wear a watch every day and do not want to change from the type of watch I wear to go to a fitbit on my wrist. Please consider keeping the One or something comparable to it.

@realityshifter Or, you can go for a final last purchase of a One device. Hoping that FitBit will reintroduce a similar device before it dies. If you don't loose the device, then it normally last at least 2-3 years.  Maybe this is a stupid option but I went for it.

I was wondering the same thing. As soon as I heard they weren't making the One I started hunting (like most of us, I guess) but I refuse to pay double the price.  What irritates me is that I know they have some but they won't sell them to us!

On amazon.fr third party resellers, paying 130 euros instead of the 80 it
used to cost. But I am addicted to that brilliant device (hence my tremendous disappointment of its commercial discontinuation) and found it fair that the
three devices we had purchased for me and my wife formally lasted for four years all together, ie 2.66 years/device/person.

I decided to give FitBit another chance, ...at my humble level.

If there is no new discrete device model on sale the next time I have to change, the game will be over.

For hear rate monitoring when doing intense exercise, I have a H2 polar belt and Bose SoundSport Pulse headset: both support open integration with third party apps like endomondo. I am not interested in proprietary Fitbit models in that respect.

For day to day, I like the standard jewellery watch, in my case a Breitling aerospace.

I agree,no jewelry for me. I would rather have a jewel. After being without a working fit bit ( since August,update)I am no longer in love with the device. I get ftee Omrons from work

I also purchased a One after the announcement of discontinuation.  Hope this One lasts as long as my first one did as I have found no other comparable device
