Does anyone have a Fitbit that is 2 years old or older. Or do we all get switched off so we have to buy a new one???  I got mine July 2017. Have worn it everyday  suddenly the screen goes blank. Everything else works.

My One is over 5 years old and going strong.

Have you tried restarting your fitbit using this procedure? Help article: How do I restart my tracker?

If you are in Europe then you may still, just, be within warranty as it runs for 24 months rather than the standard 12 months elsewhere. If so, then you can contact customer support via contact.fitbit.com

Thank you for your suggestion. I have tried the restart several times from the wall and from my laptop. I also tried running the battery down and recharging it. Also changing the clock face. The screen is still blank. This problem seems to have happened to lots of people the same week.

The watch was a gift from Europe but I am in Canada I contacted support and they offered me 25% off a new watch

Same happened to ours yesterday. New 11/27/17, offered same coupon due to out of warranty.

Was working perfectly and was switching it to my daughters account.

I think they have a software bug

I had the same problem with the blank screen even though my battery was full, turns out it was an easy fix, called customer support,  put Fitbit on charging g cable, pressed and hold button for 4 seconds, while on the charge cable,  release, see Fitbit logo appear  and I was back in business

Doing a restart (multiple attempts) did nothing to revive mine.

Resetting several times did nothing for me either

I agree it is a software bug. Now they need to fix it

If restarts aren't fixing the issue then it's probably best to contact customer support. It may be a software bug...but it may also be a hardware issue that is not going to be fixed. Discussing it with support means you get options either way. The various options for contacting them are at contact.fitbit.com

I have contacted customer support  They will only offer 25% off a new purchase and I pay tax and shipping.

That's a pity. Sorry to hear that. I guess you are out of warranty. It does suggest, though, that it's a problem with the fitbit rather than a software bug that they can fix.

So many others had the same problem. At about the same time beginning of July when updates were done. Is it possible one of the updates caused the screens to go blank? Why don’t Fitbit at least check this out as a possibility Why. Would I buy another knowing it can be switched off after 2 years.

Support was contacted. Besides trying a restart they had no other options other than a 25% off coupon.
They had no answer for why a unit with 34% power sitting on a table would die while being activated on a different account.

So sorry you had the same result as me. So many more people are in the same position I don’t want to just let them get away with not even trying to discover what fault has occurred Or do they know they have switched us off??  If so they are shooting themselves in the foot because I would never buy another and I will be very vocal about what has happened

Same issue. . . Set mine up March 2017 and it was working fine this morning with a 65% full battery. Logged a workout and everything. Checked the time around noon, and it was black screen. Charging it, resetting it hasn't fixed the issue. Too expensive for this thing to last just over 2 years. . .

Mine is three years almost 4

I hate to say it but I think a lot of people dont charge it correctly

See this thread for charging best practices. If you are not charging it correctly you could be damaging the battery

It is happening to so many of us. I agree with you they are too expensive to only last two years especially when I have taken such good care of it.

I charge it properly. Have taken really good care of it not even a scratch. Everything works it updates battery is fully charged  The screen just does not show. Tried changing. The clock face, running the battery down then recharging. Fitbit should look into the updates they did at the beginning of the month.

I got mine in June 2017 and it is on it's final legs.  It stopped tracking pulse (and sleep) about 3 weeks ago, and discharged 3 times yesterday.  I suspected a software bug for the pulse since the green lights are continuously flashing.
