App GPS stops mid cycle

Hi,

I used to have an iPhone 6s where the app worked very well and the gps was spot on.

Since changing to a Samsung galaxy note 9, the app only seems to record part of my journey. It will sometimes show the first part of the journey and other times will show another part of the journey. To confirm, I manually start the exercise, cycling, on the watch (not auto recognition) and end it at my destination. The watch and app records the correct time but because the gps only records part of the journey, all stats are wrong such as average speed, top speed etc. This is incredibly frustrating as I use the data for training milestones and now have nothing that I can sensibly use.

I haven't tried this running but imagine it will do the same thing. I suspect it is something to do with the app timing out or the phone shutting down the gps to conserve data/battery.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any ideas as to what I can do to resolve this?

Thanks.

@Trussell1982 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me assist you with you GPS data recording and thank you for testing this feature. Lets start by refreshing the link between your phone and your Charge 2 by going to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there. Restart your phone and restart your device. After this try syncing them. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on. You can find additional suggestions here.

Let me know how it goes.
