I have only just purchased the charge and after set up it’s saying I’ve burnt 516 calories, how can this be correct and is there anyway I can change it to get an accurate reading

Hi, and welcome to the Community!
I think it's working just fine.
As well as tracking calories burned through activity your fitbit also tracks your BMR calories. These are the calories you burn just keeping your body alive (even when asleep). They are calculated from your profile settings for age, height, weight etc so you needn't be wearing your fitbit to get them. What you are seeing includes the total BMR calories burned since midnight

Oh ok many thanks, is there any way that I can change the settings for this, so it doesn’t include the bmr calories, sorry I’m new to all this, this is my first Fitbit I’ve just had cheaper versions before
thanks

No, I'm afraid there's no way to exclude the BMR calories or to show them separate from your active calories.
However, if you're using fitbit to manage calories then you really need to include them as you really do burn them just as you do burn calories through activity.
