Can't add friend

I have a friend who just bought a Fitbit and can add people except me. I tried to add her and could not. I've deleted the app and reloaded to no avail! Help - I convinced her to buy the Fitbit so we could compete 😩

It's nice to see you around the Community @Chipsfit, hope you're doing great today! You can add a maximum of 2,000 friends either from the fitbit.com dashboard or from the Fitbit app. You can choose to add friends by one of the following methods:

• Contacts—See your contacts who have Fitbit accounts and those who don't. Invite anyone to be a Fitbit friend. The Fitbit app for Windows Windows 10 also shows you friends of friends. Friends of friends appear only if your friends do not privatize their friends list. (Not available on the fitbit.com dashboard)
• Facebook—If you choose to connect your Fitbit and Facebook accounts, see your friends who also have Fitbit accounts linked to Facebook. Invite anyone to be a Fitbit friend. You can later revoke access to Facebook from your Fitbit account by revoking access to the Facebook app on your fitbit.com dashboard (Settings > Applications), or through the settings on your mobile device. If you have more than one Facebook account, you can only link one to your Fitbit account. 
• Email—Type in the email address of anyone to want to invite to Fitbit.

In order to add your friends from your Fitbit app, do the following:

1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Friends tab.
2. Tap the + button in the top right corner. 
3. Choose the method with which you want to connect to your friends and follow the onscreen instructions.

When trying to add each other, are you guys getting error messages or so? 

FYI, currently we've had some reports regarding the Facebook link not showing on the Sharing tab and our development team is aware of this issue. They'll be investigating this further and see what can be done to get this fixed. 

In the meantime you can go to https://www.fitbit.com/friends and click on the button to connect to Facebook. Clicking this button will offer the same options as the "Sharing" tab.

I'm having difficulty adding my friend as a contact. Her number is in my address book, however it's not appearing in my Fitbit address book. 

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks for stopping by sweetie @SunsetRunner! Have you tried what I suggested above? If you're trying to add your friend through your mobile app, do the following:

• From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the + icon .

• Tap or click Add Friend. 

• Choose how you want to connect to your friends and follow the onscreen instructions.

Unfortunately this didn't work.  It's a shame as I was hoping to do a challenge with my work mate. 😕

Does she have a Fitbit account? If so, can you ask her to send an invitation to you? 

In the meantime, can you send me screen shots as I did? Showing what I'm doing? Whenever you type the name of her, do you see it or but you cannot add her due to a error message?

Trying to ad a new friend from Facebook, Fitbit username and via email. Isn5vhappening. She too has tried again not working. Any ideas? We’ve both tried all the above

• I’ve tried adding people by their email address.  I show up under their friends list but they don’t show up under mine.  Very frustrating.  Please come up with a fix, this is obviously happening to multiple people.

Please Help: I am not able to add an of my Facebook friends I receive a message that "No Facebook Friends Were Found". 

Likewise when I try to add a Friend via Contacts or by User Name I cannot. Nor can my friends find my account. 

Can you please advise me on how I might resolve this issue or reset my account?

I don’t have any friends in my contacts or on Facebook, so is there a way to add other people that I don’t know? I mean to see if they want to do challenges or a group to connect to that is ok with adding people they don’t personally know
