My family bought my mom a charge 2 yearssss ago but she never opened it so recently I decided to try to use it. I understand it’s years old and has been sitting in a box for a long while so maybe that’s the issue but I downloaded the app, charged up the Fitbit and connected it to my phone, but for some reason it’s still stuck on the www.fitbit.com/setup screen. The app shows my steps though and they seem to be accurate so it’s tracking everything but the screen is just stuck on setup. I have tried unconnecting the Fitbit, turning off Bluetooth and reconnecting it many times and it shows the screen to enter in the number to connect it, but then goes right back to the setup screen.

Mine has been off for three weeks and it is doing the exact same thing. I have no idea how to fix it.

I have the same exact situation and same exact thing is happening to mine. It says it’s synced, and that it needs to be updated, but it won’t update and the screen just keeps saying set up.

Sounds like the setup was incomplete, and the final firmware wasn't installed.
Is try the setup again, without removing the tracker from the fitbit account.
Choose the option to replace the current device

I have the same issue, just tried what you suggested, didn't work. My husband is trying to replace his Fitbit2 with a new one that he bought, sealed in original package. Can't get the watch to stop displaying www.fitbit.com/setup. App says firmware update required, but fails when I try to update the firmware. Help would be appreciated!

I was just given a brand new, sealed in the box, Charge 2 and have exactly the same problem. I get the 4 digit pin and everything seems to work, but it can't connect to update and continues to be stuck on the setup screen 😞 I've gone through allllll the fixes I've found, multiple times and still nothing.

The best fix I know of is to clear the phones cache.
I'm confused, given a brand new, in the box Charge 2, this model hasn't been manufactured since October of 2018. Being 4 years old, the batteries health will be questionable

Yes, I realize it's an old model. Actually the battery charged fine (how long it will hold a charge will be a different story as well), and I was able to pair it to my phone but can't get any further. Everything looks fine in the app, but the Fitbit continues to display the setup method and the app shows it needs an update, and from there things go south and it won't connect.

You tell me that it has connected, but the final firmware hasn't loaded. You may have to contact support
