Changing timing of reminders to move on Charge 3

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I work in in office sitting all day, and find the reminders to move very useful. One circuit of the office via the loo and a trip to the bin seems to add up to 250 steps!

However is there any way to change the timing of the reminder?

I'd like to set it so it goes off a bit earlier, on the half hour rather than just before the hour. Reason being that it goes off just before lunchtime and official breaks, when it looks bad if I get up and walk around!

Also I'd like to extend the time between the reminder and it resetting to the next period, as sometimes I am stuck on the phone when it goes off, then forget about it.

I couldn't find any settings for this. It is my first Fitbit so still getting used to it!

Welcome on board @KateNosh, it's nice to see you here! You can change the hours and days you receive a reminder to move. These are the same hours and days your dashboard tracks your 250-step hourly activity goal—a minimum of 5 hours and a maximum of 14 hours in a day. If you don't want to receive reminders at least one day per week, turn off reminders to move.

To adjust the hours or days you receive a reminder and track hourly activity goals, choose a section below:

Fitbit app:

  1. On the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Hourly Activity tile. This is the tile that shows the number of hours you completed 250 steps.
  2. Tap the gear icon and adjust your reminders to move start and end times or the days you want to receive reminders.

Fitbit.com Dashboard:

  1. On your fitbit.com dashboard, click the gear icon.
  2. Click your device image.
  3. Under Reminders to Move, adjust the start and end times or the days you want to receive reminders.

If you don't want to be reminded to move for a certain period of time, you can turn off your reminders on your Fitbit dashboard.

For Charge 3 you can turn off reminders to move by turning off notifications. From the clock face, press and hold the button to turn off notifications. For Fitbit Pay-enabled devices, you may need to swipe left to access Quick Settings. Repeat when you want to turn them back on.

If you haven't moved 250 steps, at 10 minutes to the hour you’ll receive the reminder. Note that while you can take extra steps in the next hour, they won't count toward your hourly activity goal for a previous or future hour.

Hope this helps, I'll be around if you need further assistance!

"If you haven't moved 250 steps, at 10 minutes to the hour you’ll receive the reminder"
Is there a way to move this reminder to 20 minutes to the hour?

I just went from the Charge 2 to the Charge 3. It is taking some getting used to. What I noticed is that on the Charge 2....I got a visual notice at 50 minutes after the hour if I haven't gotten 250 steps in. There was also a vibration. I am not getting a visual or vibration on the Charge 3 even though my is set to green for "Reminders to Move". Am I missing something?

I am also looking for this.

Would be awsome with more customization for move reminders (when, how long, multiple reminders at diffrent times etc).

Having similair problems with my Fitbit Versa 1 but intermittent. Sometimes noticing clear reminders both visually and vibration and sometimes nothing.

Does anyone know if there is any limitation. For example depending on how many steps you have already made that hour?

Actually after some use, i get notified at 10 before the hour if my 250 steps haven’t been reached.

I love the Charge 3 because I have gotten into swimming to replace running. It allows you to set your goals such as 30, 45, 60 minutes etc. But I would like for it to vibrate when you do hit your goal instead of having to stop and visually see where you are at.

I would love the 20 minute reminder too, I am not very active due to disability and the ten minute warning very taxing

Kate, thank you! I think her question wasn’t about changing the hours that the reminders go off but changing WHEN in the hour the reminder goes off. 10 minutes is not enough warning for me. I’d prefer that my timer go off at 9:30, 10:30 instead of 9:50, 10:50 — is that possible?

Or even 15 mins to the hour... so it’s not such a rush!
