Charge 2 screen went black. The green lights on still. I tried charging, restarting but no luck. It vibrates and shows working on app. Any ideas???

@Eks123  I tried Twitter about 12 hours ago, still no reply!!!

I had a long conversation with the Customer Support, only to be told that they still have the issue logged as the battery not charging, even though I have told them repeatedly that the problem is NOT the battery, but the screen. The tracker is recording steps etc, just not showing me the information until I sync.

It seems to me that there has been a sudden spike in this issue since the recent upgrade.

@kelsie94 I have downloaded all the chats, I always do. I just keep wondering how they think we are so stupid as to not have spotted the spike in issues since the last update. Do they think we don't see everyone posting about this.

To be fair, my issue is simply that they won't allow me to have a discount off ALL models, just the ones they have restricted me to. If I bought the most expensive model with the discount, it would cost them MORE than the ones they won't discount. I don't understand the logic. They would rather have it cost them MORE.

Madness.

It seems to be an active item with customer service. Mine was out of
warranty and I think moisture caused. Recently some has said it happened
after a software update on theirs. Only help I know if you are out of
warranty is to open a chat with customer service on their web site.

Same happened to me. I was just outside of the one year warranty. I did all troubleshooting & sat on chat to wait for addit’l help. Was told same things I just tried. Rep offered me 25% off to buy new one. I can’t afford new one. For as pricey as these are it’s ridiculous to not have a helpful customer service rep.

Were you within warranty?

No. Seems to only happen 14-18 months after purchase. Every. Time.

Seems like a obvious flaw in this model because I have got it here in Asia as well. If this were to happen this often I think fitbit should consider a recall.

Same exact problem with the solution they offer... “just buy a new one”. This seems to be a planned malfunction, sort of in the same vein of Apple’s software updates that purposefully crash phones and destroy battery life... knowing that your only other option is to “buy a new one”. You hate to see it

EU law requires that manufacturers provide a 2 year warranty, so that is why we get longer than the the USA on a warranty.

My credit card gives me an extra year warranty. They will pay for a
replacement. Just something to consider when making a purchase.

No there are others. They don't seem to promote it as much as they used to.

My Charge 2 screen is blank as well. Before it went out, the screen was glitching for a few minutes then eventually went blank. Have followed the troubleshooting recommendations with no luck. Please advise. Thank you.

Nothing to recommend. Fitbit knows about the problem but if you're outside
of the 1 year warranty in the US or 2 year warranty in Europe they will do
nothing. Again, they know and will admit to knowing about this problem.
Options are never buying a Fitbit device again or joining a suit to force
change.

If you bought it with a credit card see if they give you an extended
warranty. Otherwise open chat on their website and hope for a discount on
replacement. That is how I got my Ionic at a discount. I hope it lasts.
If not I might go back to wearing a G-Shock wristwatch and give up on these
fitness ones.
