Charge 2 screen went black. The green lights on still. I tried charging, restarting but no luck. It vibrates and shows working on app. Any ideas???

I tried to restart it after connecting the charger to 2 different outlets and my PC.  The green light is showing, it's charged and it vibrates when I get alerts. I just can't see what anything is because the screen is out.  Please advise as to how to proceed.

I suspect its out of warranty If you bought it with a credit card see if
they offer extended warranty on items purchased with it. Last resort is
open a customer service chat box on their web site and see if they give you
a discount on a new one. Last one was what I did.

Fitbit chooses not to fix this. Get a different brand. This thread has been
open for this long and they choose not to do anything other than offer 25%
(sometimes 40% if you make enough noise) off another purchase of a device
that will also fail. It's planned obsolescence. Get a different product
folks.

I’ve had the charge 2 for 2.5 years now, I initially bought it for my wife but she didn’t like it. Intern, I started using it. Ultimately the screen went but the watch still worked, minus the screen and connected to my app. I called Fitbit thinking that it’s been to long for a warranty (even though I never purchased one) and they offered me a free charge 2 or 50% off an newer Fitbit. (Excluding the versa 2, which is what I really wanted). I chose the ionic adidas for $139. Pretty happy so far. They never asked me to mail the old one back or any verification that it was even broken.

I thought fitbits answer to the problem was firmware update 22.58 to kill off any remaining working charge 2s.

I haven't read of anyone fixing this once it happens. Best hope is to get
a discount when you discuss this on their websit customer chat box. Other
option is to see if your credit card gives an extened warranty to replace
it.

Please let me know what to do! My Fitbit is really apart of my life! The green light lights up in the back and it charges! The screen just stays black!

I bought a new one... the fitbit versa lite, which is ok, but I preferred the charge 2 (it kept track of flights of stairs climbed)

This definitely will be my last fitbit purchase.

Ahhh that’s sad to hear! I definitely won’t be buying the lower priced one!
I guess I’ll just use it this was since it still tracks until it completely
stops working! And more than likely I won’t buy a new one either! Since my
phone still tracks majority of my steps!

I have not heard of a fix for this. Some users are able to use it with a
blank screen and still sync all their stats to their phone, just can't read
them from the FitBit. If purchased with a credit card, the card may have
an extended warranty for items purchased with it. The last resort is to go
to their website and open a chat with customer service and hope they give
you a discount on a replacement.

There are much more reliable trackers out there. There are much better
companies than Fitbit. It's becoming an Amazon model - provide great
customer service at a great price or people are gone. I'll pay for a
reliable tracker but I won't pay foot another that fails in 13 or 14 months
with a company that doesn't stand behind their product. Adios Fitbit.

Best situation is credit card or if you purchased at Costco. In both cases
those companies will stand behind the product even when Fitbit doesn't.
Unfortunately all it means is you get another Fitbit. I'm done with
terrible Fitbit devices and customer service. Researching other devices and
I'll purchase during the holiday sales in November/December.

Always get a warranty!

Which makes no sense because the charge 3 is the same price the 3 is.

I got my charge 2 at best buy. Got a 2yr warranty. When mine died they refunded the money and I went and got a charge 3 for the exact same price I paid for the charge 2.

the charge 3 is water resistant. But if you get it wet, immediately dry it. I've had mine for over a year and the only trouble I've had is sometimes the screen freezes but if you put it on the charger it fixes it.

The charge 3 is amazing and water resistant.

Yeah they sent me 3 replacements and the firmware was wrong and the fitbits because paper weights

You just gotta dry it off and clean the sensors from time to time.

Black Friday!

ALL fitness trackers have to be water resistant because people sweat. The
most ridiculous thing I've ever heard is fitness trackers that die when you
sweat on them. Aside from that, the whole process described of having to
utilize a warranty, dry, place on chargers, etc only proves how terrible
Fitbit is. Get a real device that really works

Dont give up. Keep harassing them. The charge 3 is the same price the 2 was in best buy.
