Charge 2 screen went black. The green lights on still. I tried charging, restarting but no luck. It vibrates and shows working on app. Any ideas???

Just been on live chat with fitbit. Mine is out of warranty so they've offered 35% discount off a new model (except sense and versa 3 etc)

If you go for another FitBit I went for an Ionic with the discount. It is
a good watch but there is a groove around the charging port that fills with
dead skin cells over time and has to be cleaned out with a pin a few times
a year so it can charge.

Mine did the same and i used the discount that i got but the fact that this fault has been around for over 2 years is a bit shocking and something they should have fixed i was sent my charge 2 as a replacement for a faulty charge 1 as a free replacement but was not aware of this issue was strange that they supplied a item that had a known fault

I am pretty sure that my screen failed due to moisture build up. Charge 2
was not water resistant. I sweat a lot and over its lifetime I am sure it
got splashed a few times also. When it failed and l looked closely at the
screen it looked as if there was a fog on the inside. This is all
speculation but what I believe did it in so technically it was not a
defect.

Same issue, the screen started to be off center for a few days, then upside down for a few.  Kept resetting and then eventually went dark. it still syncs with the app but the HR monitor doesn't seem to work. I know its working but without the screen its not that helpful. I have only had for maybe 2 years so it seems like it should last longer.

Mine is older, but now it is dead. The 2nd green light went out the other day but a new Fitbit is on its way, tks to the 35% rebate. So I am ok now.

Best regards

The strangest thing has happened. Although the screen was not working the Fitbit was. So I kept wearing it as it was recording on the app. Then in the middle of the next get it came in and now it’s working perfectly again !!!???

I know I expected mine to last longer also but I don’t know how long to
expect a fitness watch to last. I know my daughter’s Apple Watches haven’t
been long lived either but she is happy to upgrade to newer ones with more
features when her’s dies where as I used my iPhone 4 for 9 years with no
repairs, same battery even. I upgraded when its software would not handle
the GPS rollover. I don’t know anyone that uses their cell phone as long
as that.

Great! I guess there are more than one condition that cause this problem
and some go away.

Hi sorry to ask...I have the same issue...had my charge 2 for 2 years tried everything listed in all these messages and my screen is blank...it will not show any info.  How can I resolve this or is this then end of its life and now need to buy a new one...thanks

My screen is doing the same thing. It will sync to the app and he’s counting my steps will also vibrate when I get a text notification on my phone but I don’t see anything on my screen. I’ve tried the charger and holding the button on the side down for 10 seconds and I’ve tried everything mentioned above. Nothing seems to work.

Do you still get info from your Fitbit to the app?

I used mine as a watch as well, so I ended getting a Charge 3 for a
discount through Fitbit. It still is odd that some people say that sweat is
a probable cause for failure....it’s not.

These devices should last longer than they do. Planned obsolescence for
some reason.

They replaced mine for only 6 months old. Mine only last 1 yr.

It’s like mine was...it’s on the way out. Get in contact with Fitbit and
work a deal with them. They usually offer 25% off a new device

I went with the Charge 3...so far it has not had major issues.

It’s not perfect by any stretch of the imagination.

It was the end for mine and fitbit gave me a discount voucher for an upgrade

Same problem and the process to correct it has not worked for me! Another "gadget" that is not meant to last - so sad this throw-away society is that we live in!

Why is everything we buy these days not meant to last?
