Charge 2 screen went black. The green lights on still. I tried charging, restarting but no luck. It vibrates and shows working on app. Any ideas???

Hi,

The same black screen of doom has just fallen on my fitbit charge 2, which had been functioning perfectly well and keeping upto 7 days charge just last week...it still has the green lights flashing and it is syncing with the app. Tried to restart and clean the contacts as suggested here but it just vibrates and the stays blank...did anyone ever find a solution to this?

Hi there,

I actually contacted Fitbit, and told them exactly what was happening to my
fitbit. I was prity much over it all.

They sent me a Fitbit replacement. I am back on board again now.
Contact them, and let them know whats happened.

Nope, no luck.

I have now been sent a replacement because my charge 3 screen totally died after only 10 months. The build quality and durability of the entire charge range seems fairly dire.

This just happened to me too. Everything was fine last night, but when I woke up this morning the screen was black. The green lights are still on and it's still syncing to my phone. I tried restarting as well. I don't know what to do from here...

Throw it away like I’ve done. 😡. They aren’t built to last. Wouldn’t buy another one!

Do you mean Fitbit in general? lol

If it is an actual charge 2 then only option is to use as is with the app.
If under warranty Fitbit will replace it. I replaced mine with an ionic
that is water resistant when it was discounted.

My charge 2 screen never came back. I got a Charge 3 and it’s been working well.

Mine was/is a charge 3! It failed totally 10 months in (after doing this 4 times) and I was given a replacement under warranty. The 3 isn’t any more reliable than the 2.

That’s definitely true.

It seems fitness watches have short lifetimes. My daughter is on her 3rd
Apple watch, fortunately she is an adult and I don't pay for them. 🙂 I
would love my electronics to last longer than they do, others probably the
majority, want to upgrade often as newer models come out. I used an iPhone
4 for over 9 years until the GPS system did its 20 year roll over thing
which made it just a phone for most things. I guess being a manufacturer
you design for a short term to sell for the least cost knowing people will
want new features as soon as technology allows it. I have a cybertruck on
order which I hope is the last vehicle I ever need to buy even though I am
sure after 30 years there will be some nice new features in other vehicles.

I have exactly the same problem that @DicoBit and @Reggers0814 experienced. Suddenly my screen went black, it vibrates, it syncs with the app but cannot see anything on screen. I have also tried all you have indicated but nothing worked. Could you assist with this matter @MarreFitbit , please?

I do not know of any way to fix this. I used mine this way until there was
a sale on a newer model.
