Charge 2 Dead

My Fitbit died over the weekend. I plugged it in on Saturday because it was dead (the battery symbol flashing) grabbed it on Monday for work and it was dead. Thought it was an error on my part, possibly not putting it in the correct way but that wasnt the issue. Switched plugs and got it to charge before I went to work. Understandably it was dead by the end of my shift and it hasn't turned on since. I've tried resetting but it doesnt respond. Connected it to my computer, different plugs in my house, nothing. It has been about 5 days and it doesnt work. Contacted support who could only offer the solution of buying another one with a 25% discount. Ridiculous!! I just need to know what is wrong with it and how to fix it. This is my second Fitbit since 2013 and this one is only about an year old.

@Khrazie It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

I will gladly assist you with this and thank you for troubleshooting the issue and contacting support. You didn't mention if you cleaned the contacts so I suggest you try cleaning the contacts using cotton with rubbing alcohol then charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours directly to your computer's usb port (try different ports) or use an UL listed usb wall adapter. After this, restart your device and see how it behaves.

Let me know how it goes.

So I did originally try that but I decided to just try it again for the sake of it and as I suspected, nothing.

No vibration, no lights not syncing to the phone so its def not a display issue, its actually dead!

So to reiterate, what is wrong and how do I fix it?

@AlvaroFitbit

So it just randomly turned on a few minutes ago and I was able to sync it. Not exactly sure what happened but fingers crossed it keeps working!

Mine did the same thing. It came back on, but only lasted about 10 minutes. 😞 How is yours now?

It's hasnt stopped since that last time (knock on wood) but I do get stressed out everytime it dies because I worry that it'll give me issues again.

I’m hoping to get mine going again. I restarted it again this morning. It’s holding a charge, but I also haven’t taken it off the charger. I’m afraid once I do it will go dead again. Within 10 minutes of me putting it on last night it was gone. Mine showed up the numbers 22.52.02 with the logo.

I think that number is just the version and software info but I do understand your resistance to taking it off the charge but hopefully it holds up and gives no more issues!

Nope, it was deemed defective. They offered me a 25% discount on buying a new one. 😞 It was only 14 months old.

If mine hadn't started working, I'd have switched cuz that is ridiculous!! I love my Fitbit but when it stops without a reason, I refuse to buy a new one!

That's why I'm not sure I want to use it!! I'm not buying one every darn year. I'm a homeschooling mom to 4 kids. I don't have that kind of money to drop on one every year. Plus, this product helped me lose 44 lbs and get off my diabetes medication! I've been a diabetic for 15 years! I loved it! But, I don't love this!! It's a hard choice to make.

I feel you!! The reviews for other smart watches are so bad I was really hoping my watch would come back so I wouldn't have to make that decision!

I left it plugged into my computer for almost a day, you should try that and see! Good luck
