Charge 2 Exercise Tracking

As of May 18, 2020, my Charge 2 says "check Fitbit app" when I press the button to start tracking a walk. I don't know what to check. Therefore, I now start tracking on the iPhone app and press the Charge 2 button again "to dismiss" and start tracking with a line through the phone symbol. At the conclusion, I stop tracking at both places and get two Walk records with different sets of data instead of one composite with pace, steps, distance and heart rate accompanied by a map of the route. What can I do to return to the way it used to work?

@genebibb Thanks for stopping by! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with tracking your exercises with your Charge 2. Your tracker has the ability to either detect your steps and provide a distance calculation by itself or connect with your phone to get GPS data, this feature is called Connected GPS. Besides this you can just use your Fitbit app to track your activity with the GPS chip on your phone which is the one you are using. When you see the message on your tracker to connect with your phone it means it is trying to connect with your phone's GPS chip via the Fitbit app (so you need to open the app to establish the link between them. You can either just use your tracker. the tracker and your phone, or just your phone.

Let me know how it goes.
