Charge 2 - GPS never working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have just starting using my Charge 2 to track my exercise. I am using an Android phone.

I have enabled all of the relevant settings: connected GPS and notifications are both enabled, but the GPS still never works on the tracker. I've tried with the fitbit app open and closed, with Wifi on and off, restarted the app, deleted the tracker and re-added it.

When I start an exercise from the shortcuts (e.g. run, walk, bike) there is no phone icon at all, and never has been.

I've searched through dozens of help posts and can't find an answer, because I've already enabled all the necessary settings. At this point I think the tracker is just broken!?

Any help would be appreciated.

@Hydrarasa It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

Let me help you with your Charge 2 not connecting to your phone's GPS signal and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. I suggest you clear the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.
