Charge 2 Short Battery Life

About three days ago I charged my Fitbit overnight and it was dead before lunchtime. A week before I had been getting 5-7 days of battery life. I've tried cleaning it and resetting it but it continues to die in a few hours. Right when it is taken off the charger the light is at a regular brightness but less than a second later it flares up and starts to become warm. This morning I took it off of the charger and within a minute the battery life had gone done 25%. Is there anything else I can try?
