Charge 2 Will not keep time

My fitbit charge 2 will not keep time AT ALL!! it is constantly 10- 20 mins slow, does anyone have any suggestions?

This is my second fitbit, the first took a crap after a year and one week of owning it. I am starting to think these things are not worth the money or headache!

@Jessicaadams05, since the Charge 2 has only been available since last August, I assume your previous tracker was not a Charge 2, correct?  It is very unusual for the tracker not have the correct time as it syncs the time with the app each time you sync the tracker.   Does your time update to the correct time when you sync it to the app?

I am having a similar issue for the last couple of days. In between syncs it slows down and no longer shows the correct time. When I sync it corrects itself but slows down again. I synced 20 min ago and it's already 7 minutes behind. This started happening this past weekend.

My Charge 2 stopped showing the correct time a few days ago. When I sync the time corrects itself but as the day goes on the time slows down (if only that happened in real life when you are having fun lol). Anyways, I reset the device by plugging it in and holding the button down till the logo came on and that didn't fix it. Now, as of this morning, it won't show heart rate, steps, or keep proper time. It didn't record any sleep data either. I had the new sleep tracking data for a couple of days and that was gone as of Monday morning. Is there an issue with the new update that is causing these problems?

@MaryC21, I have bee n using the new Firmware update since it was released, and I have not experienced any of these problems.  If you have not already done so, restart your Charge 2 tracker 3 times in a row to see if that corrects it.  If it still has problems, you need to contact Fitbit Support so that they can help resolve these issues.

I have been having the same problem for the last several days (not exactly sure how long as at first it was only a few minutes off and corrected itself as soon as I synced) but now it gets hours off (it is 6:04pm and my charge HR 2  showed 3:30. I am glad to hear someone else is experiencing this and it may not be my fitbit taking a crap. I tried restarting mine once. I will try the 3times thing tonight. Also the new sleep tracker is spotty. My longest run is 5 nights in a row. The other nights it reverts to the

old sleep tracker style....weird

Hopefully it works for you. I haven't worn mine since my post because there is no point. All the stats are off since it won't keep the correct time.

Let me me know if it works!

That was such a problem for me with my previous Charge HR, so I exchanged it for a (small) discount on a Charge 2.  Charge 2 had had same problem all along. I sync often so it does not get too far off, but if I need a trusted time, I always look at my phone.  I've talked to support, tried everything they suggest and everything suggested here, and nothing fixes it.  For me, I've decided it's worth it to just live with it. But it amazes me that I can go to WM and spend $5 or $10 on a cheap digital watch that keeps better time than these do.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I agree. I spent good money on this and I can't even use it. My day gets busy, as everyone's does, and I don't have time or remember to sync it every hour just to keep it working properly. I hope they are able to fix the issue with a software update but I'm not holding my breathe for it.

Ya, mine is 2 hrs behind schedule & I've done everything I can to change this & that is the only thing that needs to be reported on this post is that the charge 2 needs to keep up with the times & update the time. I had lost my watch & found it & updated it, & did all I could to update the time, sadly no update.

Hey, @Jessicaadams05 Yes, you should try disconnecting your fitbit charge 2 from bluetooth and then connect it again and see if that works. You should also consider, either restarting your phone, and redownloading the fitbit app and check your time/clock settings or try unpairing your device from the fitbit app. You can do this by selecting the unpair button in your fitbit account settings. I also have the fitbit charge 2, I used to have the same problem as well with mine.

I hope it works out well for you so that you won't have to suffer those annoying headaches no more and maybe change the way of your thinking about the fitbit. 👍

Ya, out of frustration mine may end up in the garbage. I’m not ready to deal with it @ this moment, as I’ve tried pretty much everything!!

FitBit seems to have a limit as to how long it lasts. My nickname for fit bit, “It Works A Little Bit!!”

@M.Son I’ve tried everything, it may be seeing the trash soon. Good thing I don’t have time to deal with it, right now, cause the frustration of it makes me want to throw it away.
