Charge 2 completely dead and not charging

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a fairly new charge 2 that's been dead of battery for a week or so and I finally plugged it in but it's not showing the charging screen on the watch or being found on my phone. It's been plugged in for an hour and half, should have some juice by now : /

This would depend on what it is plugged into.. If your plugged into the Computer or a cheap wall charger I've seen it take 2.5 hours. A phone charger might take less time.
You really want to keep some charge in the battery, because left in a dead state it will start breaking down

@Helpmeplease12 @Ktorrez707 Welcome to our Community! Sorry to hear about your issues while charging your tracker. Besides the recommendations @Rich_Laue has shared also make sure that the contacts are clean, you can clean them with a toothbrush or a toothpick and finish the process with cotton and rubbing alcohol, also clean the charging cable contacts. After this align the contacts and plug your tracker to the computer or adapter. You can also restart your tracker by doing the following:

1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your Charge 2 will begin charging.
4. Press and hold the button on your tracker for four seconds. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Let me know how it goes!

It's still not charging. It won't restart either. When I connect the tracker, I made sure it's properly aligned and it still does not vibrate or charge.

Alvaro - it's still not turning on.

In my case the 3rd point doesn't popup at all. The charge 2 of mine is completely dead. I have him from around Christmas till now.

3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your Charge 2 will begin charging.

If it is completely dead for a while, then the battery might need to charge for an hour or two before any sign of life.

I would leave it plugged into your phone's chatger.

I’m having the same issues, were you able to get it to work?

@Siangreen1 I have to agree with @AlvaroFitbit I have found thx a Fitbit having a feed battery for a few days, usually takes 2-4 hours on my phone charger before any sign of life shows.

@KOM Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Sorry to hear that your Charge 2 isn't working and for the delay in my reply. Thank you for cleaning your devices contacts. Please plug it for a couple of hours directly to your computer's usb port or use an UL Listed usb wall adapter. After this try restarting it by doing the following:

Plug the charging cable to your computer or UL certified wall adapter.
Align the contacts of the tracker with the charging cable and plug it in making sure it snaps securely.
Your tracker should start charging.
Press the button for 10 to 12 seconds.
You should see your tracker's firmware version and you can now unplug your tracker.

As well as having problems with 4 Fitbit brand bands breaking that "weren't under warranty", one being a leather band that broke after 2 weeks use, I am having the same problems charging. The charger is properly aligned and the connectors have been cleaned. The device is simply a **ahem** and Fitbit does not stand behind their products. Good riddance.

@unhappycust1000 Welcome! It's good that the community is growing!  Sorry to hear about your Charge 2 not charging and the damage on your wristband. Thank you for cleaning the contacts on your tracker. Make sure you plug the tracker directly on your computer's usb port (try different ports) or use an UL listed usb wall adapter. For the wristband please let Support know the date you purchased it if it is an official band from Fitbit so they can further assist you.
