Charge 2 is constantly vibrating and changing through the screen menu

I was woken this morning to my fitbit vibrating constantly as it was entering and exiting the timer mode, then found that it would randomaly shuffle through menus as if the button was being pressed and sometimes held.  I started to google on my phone what was happening and shortly after I started searching it stopped.  so I layed back down and within five minutes it started again. I looked up restarting my fitbit and preformed that. it contunued to act as though it was being pressed.  I tried restarting it a couple more times and it seems to have stopped for now.  but I was wondering what could have caused this.

This seems to be a common fault as mine has started playing up this week with exactly the same issue. I would like an explanation as why its happened as i do not want to purchase another one and have the same fault.

Mine keeps doing this too! Just keeps buzzing and circling through the menus and is also missing the two lines that seem to have been mentioned... it’s not even two years old and started suddenly on Wednesday. Have let the battery drain multiple times and it’s still not helped

Contact the customer services, they will talk you through the reset procedure.

If that doesn’t work they will check the warranty and will send you a new pebble out if it’s still covered.

Thats what happened with mine. 😃😃😃

Awoke to the same issue!  Frustrating as I’ve had nothing but issues.  Starting with the band.  Now this.  I expect Fitbit should give me a product that is worthy of my investment.  It’s become unreliable.

There is obviously a fault and they won’t admit it. I won’t be buying another one.

I am having the same problems with my Charge 2.  It woke me up vibrating On/Off Notifications.  I have reset it and it works fine for a litle while, then starts cycling through again.  When it is in this phase, radom things happen, like the stop watch going off... and it won't acknowledge that I press the button or tap the screen.

They said it needed repacked. I bought another one and gave the one constantly vibrating to a friend because it did stop after the battery died. I think it lasted a few more months. Best to get it replaces. My last one has lasted almost two years. Of course it has. I gave my daughter the charge 3. It needed replaced. She gave it to me. I’m just waiting to trade to that. I do like the Fitbit. It just doesn’t last very long.

The Fitbit Charge has a two year warranty, if it does it within that time, they will replace it free of charge.

Was there ever any resolution to this issue?  Mine just started doing the same thing this morning.

I may have stumbled on a way forward with this for some people. This first happened to my charge 2 about ten days ago and I had to wait for it to go completely flat before it would recharge and functional normally. I charged it a couple of times since then with no problems. Today the charge fell below 20% and the vibrating and moving through screens started again, so I had to let the battery go flat and then recharge it again. It did the random vibrating thing for about half an hour as it began to recharge and is now working fine.

I've had my Charge 2 for 15 months so I'm beginning to wonder if the issue in some cases is the battery. Perhaps once the device gets to a certain age (depending on usage) the battery is no longer able to properly power the device when the battery has a low charge?

I plan to do my best not to not let the device drop below 30% before recharging and see if that keeps the vibrating/screen switching from occurring.

I have to agree. This sounds similar to a phone battery issue. Sometimes,
phone batteries that overheat will cause a phone to go into a bootloop
state and confused the device into whether the battery is partially charged
vs full charge.

In the same way, a finite with a malfunctioning battery may be
demonstrating the same issue and this is basically a bootloop scenario
displayed on a fitbit device.

Very possible. Thank you, this was helpful.

Mine is doing the same thing started in the middle of the night and woke me up.  I have allowed it to drain the battery and performed a reset. Nothing is working. The button doesn’t seem to be stuck either.  I paid too much money for this thing to just randomly break like this. This is the second one to have this issue.  Very frustrating.

Place it in a bag of rice to dry it out. Most likely it has gotten some moisture into the case from humidity or other ways.
