Charge 2 loses connection when locking Galaxy A10e screen

Howdy,

I regularly bike with the bike exercise function on my charge 2. Recently, during the exercise after locking my phone screen the fitbit loses connection to my phone and thus the GPS data. I am running a Galaxy A10e and have enabled the Fitbit App to access location at all times. I had no trouble until about a week ago.

I read that enabling Always Connected in the fitbit app could solve the issue. However,  I cannot find such an option. Attached is a link to a pictureScreenshot  of the bottom of the Account -> Charge 2 page with the option missing.

@ImperialPeng I hope you're doing well!

Let me help you with your Charge 2 losing connection with your phone. The options you are talking about doesn't show anymore on the app but this shouldn't affect your device. What it sounds is as if your app is being killed by a battery saving feature/app on your phone as the link is broken once you lock your phone's screen. Still I suggest you refresh the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.
