My Charge 2 is now completely dead with no explanation. I tried charging it overnight -- didn't vibrate or acknowledge charging (because it's dead). When I woke up it was hot to the touch and still just an expensive paperweight. Can't get it to charge much less restart. I purchased at a local Walmart store less than 5 months ago, and it doesn't look like the Fitbit policies cover outside purchases. This is the second one that's bricked on me in less than a year -- done with Fitbit.

Mine bricked at 14 months. I pretty much decided I was done with Fitbit, although I like the app/software better than others. Then I got invited to join an ArthritisPower study, and I'm setting up a new Versa right now for that. Will see how that goes. I really like the Charge 2 feature that gives you altitude gain, but the screen scratched if you breathed on it. Wish this company would get it together. I had that one that got recalled, which I LOVED, and I had a One that was great except for being so easy to lose or run thru the washer. Sigh. Here I go again with the Versa.

i have the same stupid problem also, mine just passed its 1 year warranty. its upsetting that you spend the $$$ and they don't even last a stupid year. i still have my original charge hr #1 and that one is still working somehow. so i dont know what they did wrong. i ordered another charger hoping that it might help but i doubt it. back to samsung for me

Yes it is so frustrating that many users of the Charge 2 are reporting problems with their tracker just dying as the batteries appear to have such a short shelf life and all Fitbit can do is respond with standard advice to clean the Charge points. No acknowledgement of an inherent problem or possible recall solution.

I'll have to take a closer look at Samsung when the Versa fails. I would not have bought it myself, but it was provided as part of the study I'm participating in. I really prefer something that includes altitude gain and don't care if it's waterproof.

I'm having the same problem. I've cleaned the charging pins and everything. I've reset it. It tells me the battery is full. Then I put it on and it's dead. This is obviously a common problem. And what's unfortunate is that it's a common problem shortly after the warranty runs out which makes me wonder if that's why they only gave a 1 year warranty. Hey Fitbit, please help me fix this issue! And if the Charge 2's have a faulty battery please just save everyone some time and stress and issue a recall.

I think I might try a Garmin now.

Yes the silence from Fitbit on this issue is appalling. The fact that adverts for replacement batteries for the Charge 2 and online tutorials on how to fit them clearly shows a fault that Fitbit is ignoring. I still have an original Fitbit flex that nearly 5 years on still holds a full charge. Will not replace with another Fitbit and am sharing my concern with friends and colleagues with trackers.
