Charge 2 not detecting sleep stages

Charge 2 is no longer showing steep stages, only giving simplified sleep details.   I made sure that I am running the most recent Fitbit app.  iPhone 6s running iOS 13.4.

@dst65 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your Charge 2 not detecting sleep stages and thank you for having your Fitbit app up to date. You may not get sleep stages for the following reasons:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Let me know how it goes.

My charge 2 is the same, it doesn’t register a heart rate at all and if I wake up during the night I note that it shows (- -) on the heart rate bit on the screen.

  • I sleep with the fitbit wrist pretty free.
  • My tracker sits 2 finger widths above my wrist bone.
  • I wear it securely all the time anyway but not so tight it’s pinching me.
  • I don’t use begin sleep now on the app.
  • The app is up to date and so is my iOS on iPhone 11 Pro.
  • My device battery is not critically low
  • I’m sleeping for a minimum of 7 hours
