Hello. I bought my charge 2 a few days ago, and whenever i walked the dog for 15mins or more, it auto recognised that as exercise so when i got home i was able to see all my stats on the app in the exercise section, eg. calories burned, distance, heart rate, steps etc. I've just gone for a walk now, longer than 15 mins so it should have auto recognised it again but it hasnt? Its updated my steps on the main page of the app but hasnt tracked it for exericse?? It was about 45mins up a mountain so it shouldve tracked it. Any ideas why? or how i can make sure it tracks my walk this evening please?

Sorry, I’m not computer literate. What do I do to “force quit” the Fitbit app? It’s frustrating because I can’t track my walking, aerobics and elliptical exercises.

I just purchased a charge 3 and am also having problems with the auto tracking for exercise. I have completed all the tasks suggested and that did not work. Is there going to be a fix for this? There seems to be an ongoing problem with this feature.

This solution worked for re-tracking my exercise, my sleep and updating my total week steps which all stopped tracking at the same time!! Thanks so much fitbit community !

I’ve asked this before with no response—what do you mean by “force quit” and how do I do this?

Hi, my app is not showing anything under the track exercise section - it suddenly stopped after 10 March. I’ve looked at the solution but what do you mean by force quit and how do you log out? I just tap the Fitbit icon on my phone so don’t log in or out. Thanks

MY Fitbit Charger 2 does not track properly exercises. It shows 24 mins of activity but it does not show in the track exercise.

I had this same issue. I run for 45 minutes and the exercise tracker only tracks 23 of those minutes MOST of the time. SOME times it gets it right. Very frustrating. But what's even more frustrating, is that fitbit won't do anything about it. Very disappointed in customer service.

I've been having this problem for the past 2 weeks now too with my Charge 3. It's roughly 2 months old and was always registering my exercise but as of recently it doesn't register any exercise but will add on my calories burnt and steps taken. Can anyone be of any help??

Thanks - funnily enough I now use the Fitbit website to look at my progress - by logging in I see my own page and the exercise is tracked. Quite why it doesn’t track it on the app I have no idea!!

My employer makes us use fitbits and we get dinged for lack of exercise. I am a runner and mountain biker but broke my leg badly and can’t Run anymore, can hardly walk but I bike daily. My Fitbit ignores my bike rides most of the time. Ignores 500 foot climbs. ignores hours in the woods. Tells me I did nothing for 5 days. Followed all the instructions here but it is fickle device. So I am getting cheated at work for this fickle device.

Same here. My employer rewards exercise but my stupid Fitbit ignores mine. Followed all advice but it only works about a third of the time. Steps it gets. Bike rides it doesn’t. I have a bad leg can’t run can’t walk. Can bike but Fitbit seems unable to detect my rides. I climb huge hills. I mountain bike. All at aerobic rates but Fitbit says I did nothing

Restarting Fitbit then logging off and restarting the app worked for me. All my exercises immediately appeared and I lost no data. Very happy and thanks so much for the wonderful suggestion.

My fit bit 2 has stopped logging my daily exercise. I have carried out the suggestions to improve but to no avail. I’m really disappointed as I like to see my progress.

I have the same problem with my Charge 3 but it is even more bizarre: the minutes show up when I am walking on both my watch and the app, but then mysteriously disappear an hour later. This only happens when walking, but not when bicycling.
