Charge 2 records activities while sleeping

I've noticed an unusual pattern the last several weeks. On days when I walk to the gym and have a relatively vigorous elliptical session, I find that my Charge 2 records the combined walk plus elliptical as one long walk. That night, at a time when the Charge 2 shows me soundly asleep, it also records me as taking a walk with a pace and distance that roughly match what the elliptical had reported but with an average heart rate that appears to be correct.

I don't mind that the Charge 2 combines my walk and elliptical session, but do you have idea idea why the session would be duplicated during my sleep? It's rather amusing that the Charge 2 has me lightly sleeping with a 69 bpm average heart rate while walking 3.47 miles at a 8'38" pace.

I think that I've found the explanation. I've noticed that the activity while I sleep is the only activity that is recorded with a distance, leading me to consider what would be reporting this information. I've authorized the xID application from Netpulse to interact with my account, and I log into the equipment at the gym using xID. When I log onto my Netpulse account, sure enough, the workouts exactly match the activity recorded during my sleep (except, of course, for the time of day).

@Phil_F Welcome! It's good that the community is growing! Sorry to hear that your tracker is recording activities when you are sleep. This is odd. Your tracker detect activities based on the motion on your arm. For example when using the elliptical machine make sure you have the moving bars so your tracker detects the motion and record the activity itself. Try wearing your device on your non dominant hand to decrease the amount of movement it is subjected to. Finally you can restart your device.

Let me know how it goes!

You'd better revoke some of my badges, because I've clearly been cheating by double-counting my workouts! Smiley LOL

Suspicions confirmed: I disabled the Netpulse access to my Fitbit account, and there was no duplicated activity after my last gym visit.
