Charge 2 records too many steps

Has anyone solved the problem of the charge 2 recording too many steps? Even when it is sitting on my side table, it still is recording steps.

I've tried restarting but it's the same. I've changed the settings so that it is  actually on my non dormant hand and I've stated that it's on my dormant hand.

What else can I do?
