When you were given the replacement tracker, were you still under warranty? Ive had mine for about 2 years not so it obviously is not under warranty anymore. It randomly just died and even though I got it to turn back on again the battery drains within a couple hours. I am beyond frustrated.

This seems to be the new way they plan on doing business. My girlfriends charge 2 battery holds a charge for about 16 hours and it kinda defeats the purpose of even owning it. She called Fitbit and they gave her all the steps to clean and reset it and nothing works. But since it was 13 months old they won't do anything for her. The charge 2 is apparently a huge piece of crap and will only last a little over a year. Highly recommend saving yourself time and heartache and buying a google watch or apple watch.

My Charge 2. acquired 3 weeks before Fitbit starting shipping. is still going strong.
Battery life really has to do with proper maintensnce.
For starters don't let the % ever get much below 30% and charge ASAP if the unit is lower or dead.

I’m sure that’s part of it. Rarely did mine get below 30% until it started using that much battery in one day.
I like to wear mine sleeping so I could track. I’d charge while driving to work a few times a week so I wouldn’t miss out on steps or other activity.
For the first 6 or so months, it would hold a charge for what seemed like forever and I’d charge around 40%. Then all of a sudden battery life shortened dramatically. My wife said the same thing with her Flex, she called support and heard it was due to a bug in an update trying to sync all the time so I turned off all day sync and it was better for a bit but then the battery life continued to shorten.
Then about a week week before it died, it started to only hold enough charge to last only part of the day - maybe all day if I turned off the heart rate.

My fitbit battery seems to be draining alot faster now than when I first bought it. I'm needing to charge it alot more often. Why has it changed that soon??? Thank you.

It might be that the battery was weak when put in the tracker, or the way the battery has been treated.

Exactly what happened to me. The watch was just over a year old and was told there was nothing they could do but offer at 25% off coupon which I had to use within that month. It was the second Fitbit I owned and the first one only lasted around 2 years before it fell apart. It's a lot for an item that doesn't last. I would definitely look at getting something else.

I went with the Garmin Vivosmart, got it about 2 weeks ago. Pros and cons as I see them so far:
Pros:
waterproof
slightly smaller/lighter weight
can control music
Cons:
app isn’t as intuitive/friendly - but it does have a few additional things I like - namely field to add notes for each workout.
App doesn’t have GPS directly in it. If you want to track route, need to use another app.
Display is not as crisp
Floor counter - doesn’t work for crap and have since read a number of reviews that it’s not just my tracker

I started getting that problem just two days ago. I charged it this afternoon and it's already dead 5 hrs later.
I just put it back on the charger and rebooted it, I'm hoping this fixes it.
After reading all the posts on here, my hopes are pretty dim.
I too never let my Fitbit go bellow 50% so it's not an issue of not charging or maintaining it properly.
Im also disappointed to hear that Fitbit is more concerned about the profit they make as opposed to keeping their customers happy. What they don't realize is that it will hurt them a lot more in the long run. I will be posting my problem on Facebook to all my friends and ask them to pass it on. If everybody else does the same, their profit will decrease drematically.

As for the battery not replaceable, I found a YouTube video that shows you how to change your battery. It also tells you where to buy a replacement battery.
Here is the link. https://youtu.be/DYwEM7W19dg

Like many others, my battery died just a few months after my warranty period expired.

Mine stopped 18 months after I set it up. I was basically told no warranty after 1 year. No way to replace the battery either. FitBit offered me 25% off online if I wanted to purchase another one .
Bought one on sale even cheaper ..so disappointed. If this one dies within the next few years I will never buy another one again.

I’m having the same problems. They won’t replace it if it’s over the one year warranty. 25 percent off a new one of your choice on their website. Very sad 🙁
