I am often awake in the night. If I am awake more than an hour, which is often, the sleep record sis broken into 2 rather then 1. This is NOT useful! Additionally, if it is under 3 hours no sleep stages are displayed. Again not useful. All the sleep during 1 night should be analyzed as 1 night.

@David-b I hope you're doing well! You do need to continuously sleep for more than 3 hours to get sleep stages as stated in the help site. You may not see them for the following reasons:
Regarding the split records since your tracker is sensing your movement and heart rate it detects that you are awake so it is normal it stops the sleep tracking and once you fall sleep again it will automatically create a second one, this is the way the tracker works so it won't be able to join both sleep logs but you can either edit it in the sleep page or use the app to track sleep so you tell it when to start and when to stop. You won't get sleep stages using the app but some members have had some luck when manually logging the sleep (although officially you won't get sleep stages).
Let me know how it goes!

Best AnswerI go to sleep around 10.00pm most nights. When I close my eyes I start to sleep almost immediately.
My problem is My Fitbit Charge 2 shows I do start my sleep cycle until around 1.00pm. Can you tell me what is wrong. Is my Fitbit Charge 2 faulty. I suspect it is.
Same with me! I set auto sleeptime on Fitbit app from 10pm to 8am. I expect that this would be the range that Fitbit listens for sleep activity. I usually go to bed around 11pm, wakeup around 3am, use bathroom and go back to sleep around 3:30am. Split sleep cycles are NOT unusual and humans have always done it. Fitbit does NOT record types of sleep or O2 details of the 2nd cycle. THIS IS NOT HELPFUL and DISAPPOINTING!
Four years later and Fitbit still hasn't fixed this. The problem isn't the tracker detecting sleep since, obviously, it sees the two sleep sections. The problem has everything to do with how the data is analyzed and presented later. Fitbit has enough information about the wearer to aggregate any sleep between certain hours, but doesn't do this for some reason. I assume this presents some challenges that I'm not aware of, but it would be nice to hear about them, since this seems like such an easy problem to solve.
