Charge 2 suddenly acting crazy

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This is crazy. My  charge 2 is suddenly acting crazy moving from screen to screen flipping things on and off and acting irradic. I have never had problems with it before and all of a sudden it’s acting nuts and this should be something that lasts more than a year and nine months for the amount of money I spent. I have watches that do almost the same that last forever.  This is ridiculous. I would have loved to purchased another one, but after this experience I’m not sure that I would or recommend it to anyone I know. I wish they would fix this.

First thing to try when a fitbit misbehaves is a restart using the following procedure:

It does no harm and can sort out all sorts of issues. You might need to give it a few tries though as it's known to not always work.

@Sschue29 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! Sorry to hear that your Charge 2 isn't working as it should. Besides the restart that @SteveH suggested you could try cleaning the button area with cotton and rubbing alcohol and then use compressed air at a distance to clear any debris that may be there.

Let me know how it goes!

My Charge 2 is doing the same thing.  I have restarted it, cleaned it and prayed over it and it still goes crazy.  I have a case # 30498709 ... I spoke to Mitchell on 5/26, but I still have the same problem.  The screen just continually goes every second to a different mode.  It opens the stopwatch without prompting, and cycles through all of the modes, (heart rate, stairs, steps... everything).  It doesn't stop until the battery dies.

My Fitbit just started doing the same thing a few days ago. It’s constantly draining my battery. I’ve done all the troubleshooting and it is still doing it. I can’t afford to buy a new one. Any other suggestions as what to do?

Mine just started to do the same thing, after the firmware update.  Did you get a resolution?

Apparently there’s no fix for it.
They said if you’re under warranty contact Fitbit and they’ll send you a new one but if you’re like me, over a year since I bought it, then they give you a coupon for like 15% off a new one.
Such a bummer. These things are pretty expensive to throw after a year or year and a half.

Yup - mine's doing the same thing.  My (very nice) tech chat person just ran me through the reboot (which I had already done).  No fix (she didn't even mention the cleaning).  She offered a coupon for 25% off another tracker, and 40% off the Versa (but not the new one that just came out).  None of the wristbands I have will fit.  Mine was a little over 2 years old.  I don't think it makes sense to invest any more money in this product, as much as I liked it.

I also have the same issue. Unfortunately no replacement for me out off warranty. Looking at some of the threads and forums this looks like a general problem. Difficult to accept that a general problem like this is left just like this. Now the customers must fork out the money to buy another one.

Add me to the list of people with a "crazy" fitbit. Mine is just over a year an a half. I echo the sentiment that it is ridiculous to have to purchase another devise after this short of time for a wide-spread issue. Very frustrating. I may pony up for the Apple Watch, although I'd prefer to just stick with a Fitbit - not if I have to replace it every 1.5 years though.
