I'd wonder if this is a result of a new app update? but I don't see any ultra recent mass posting of this problem, seems to bother people with Charge 2 intermittently. My fitbit isn't even a year old, has been working great until the last 2 days. Charge battery full, latest IOS app version. ?

@corwinofamber Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community!
I will assist you with your Charge 2 overcounting steps. The app should not affect your tracker's sensors so I would like to if there are any manually logged activities on your account? Do you have any third party apps linked to your Fitbit account? Could you share a screenshot of your activities on the Fitbit account?
I look forward to your reply.

Hi. Thank you.
- Cronometer was linked, but I just revoked its access so now it is only "Apple Internal Webview" by Fitbit.
- I reset the fitbit 3 times.
- I deleted it and added it as a new device on my iphone 7.
- I have the latest version of IOS.
- I'm pretty sure this began Monday 4/22, and I did not perform any IOS update at that time. I feel like a fitbit app update might have caused this but I can't remember the last time I updated the app.
- The app shows my charge 2 as version 22.55.2.
- I do not manually log any activities.
Thanks again for your help.

Now that it's been going on for a few days, I think the over counting is a result of driving. It's weird because although I have read many times about this problem with other Fitbit users, I've never had this problem until this week.

Yep, definitely from driving. Bizarre that it just started now, and wasn't doing it right out of the box.

As far as I can tell from my Googling, for Charge 2 you
a) put fitbit charge 2 in cradle thing, while attached to your computer
b) when you are certain that it is charging, hold the power button down through the little hole in the side, about 4 seconds, until you see it 'reboot' and show you the fitbit software? firmware? number and the fitbit logo reappears.
