For the last week my charge 2has refused to sync. The app is set to always connected and all day sync. I have reset the tracker several times in the charger. I have turned my phone on and off, turned the Bluetooth on and off, logged out and back into the app, force stopped the app and reopened. Nothing has worked. I get no error message so I'm assuming it can "see" the tracker.
What else can I do?

@lonnyb12 do you have a Charge 2 or a Charge HR?
Also imI'not sure what your trying to do. this thread is about problems syncing and therefore there is no need to put any numbers in.
It is also helpful when referring to a fitbitFapp if we new what device the fitbitFapp is on.

Charge 2 on new iPhone 8. Also have Charge HR.
Removed them from my iPod and adding the Charge 2. I get a number and enter it into the app. It spins for a while, then fails, asking me to try again. Also dongle on Win10 laptop cannot find the device. Been trying for two days.
I turned off the iPod, put the iPod and Charge HR into a metal box in the basement, took the iPhone and Charge 2 outside away from all laptops and other devices, 6 tries later it finally paired.

@AnoopS if you really only removed the charge 2 from the BT the next step is to open the app and try a sync. Your charge 2 does not need to be paired for a sync.

He's prob trying to re-pair his device - when you're supposed type in the code from the device into the phone app...and then it does not respond.

compatibility worked for 4 months but sync stopped 12 August. Have tried all of the advise - uninstall/reinstall, turn off/on, unpair/pair, but nothing worked. Once I did get my days total to show on my mobile but this was not saved and did not last more than a few minutes. Any chance is a APPLE type business plan to get all charged 2 owners to pay out for a charger 3?
Not a satisfied customer,

Can you guys believe this troubleshooting syncing issue has been going on since it came out in 2016, and hundreds of unhappy users later, FitBit still hasn't done anything to permanently fix this. I've been fighting with my watch for days now and it's been stressing me out more than helping me stay fit... I've tried everything too and it will only sync like out of nowhere and unsync right after that.. I'm desperate. It's a gift and I'm starting to think it's more like a bowl and chain..

I started on the Charge HR forum with same sync issues, plus charging problems - since July. Had some intermittent success restarting, unpairing/re-pairing, but ultimately gave up after months of this nonsense. It's really therapeutic to just set the device aside (or throw it in the garbage) and start looking at other devices. I just ordered one for $30 on amazon and I'm really excited. If it turns out sub-par, and I'm not expecting much for the price, I'll still be happy that I didn't waste $150 on another fitbit device.

First thing that would be helpful is to know the type if phone that your asking for help with.
Sorry @Soo59 while the user can unpair the tracker from the phone, the yser can not re-pair the tracker. This might be why your having problems re-pairing, this pairing can only be down by the app and it is not needed for the tracker to sync.

Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

I have unpaired my Charge HR and re-paired to my MacPro, several times in past two months. Took many attempts (along with restarting the device and re-installing app to laptop), but when it finally did work the device would work fine. Unfortunately it would only last 2-3 days at most, before running into same problems - not syncing, charge lasting less than half day. I only had it paired to my Mac.

Just so that it gets recorded, my Charge 2 stopped syncing this morning, it synced up[ until yesterday.
I went through the documented steps:
Fitbit just continued to try and sync and then failed, numerous times.
I checked the Bluetooth settings and dispite the App saying that the adding of a device was successful, the Fitbit device did not appear in the list of Bluetooth devices. Nor could my iPhone detect the Fitbit.
After repeated playing around with the Bluetooth and trying the settings in the App, it finally connected.
What was wrong, I do not know and exactly what restored the connection, again I do not know, but I suspect that it was something to do with the Bluetooth connection itself. I know the Bluetooth on the iPhone was working as I tried a part of JBL Bluetooth headphones and they connected immediately that they were powered up.
So in short I am back syncing again, but the problem, its cause and the solution remain a mystery to me.
