My Charge 2 has been syncing just fine since January. Worked fine Monday. Now it says it can't find my tracker to sync. I have not changed anything on my laptop (I do not have a smartphone, only hooked up thru laptop). I have rebooted the computer several times. Unplugged and reinstalled the dongle. It says it is finding the dongle but when I try to sync, it can't find my tracker. I have also reset my tracker several times. Any help?

Many thanks. Useful feedback. I’ll learn from your experience. I’ve managed to sync on my iPhone but not on my iPad. Frustrating! Thanks again.
Edit
Small comfort, I’ve synced mine on iPhone but not on iPad!

Nope, but haven't given up hope. They may eventually read my repeated messages and realize that the most likely solution is that their App hasn't kept up with changes in their firmware, and android. That is fixable, assuming they have a competent programmer, which I am beginning to doubt.

To all:
FWIW, my Charge 2 has resynced both yesterday (22 March) and today with no problem or delays today. This is after two days of no syncing, as noted earlier in this thread.
Absolutely no idea why it didn't work, and then started working again.
And add to that, the inability of FitBit to communicate with its customers. No mention of the syncing problem, nor of whatever the corporation's solution was. I think the word I want is 'disincentive.'
Oh well, at least it's not raining today ... but it is snowing still at Lake Tahoe.

I was offered $50 off on a newer fitbit (which of course doesn't help since I sync with my computer) or a replacement. Since they no longer make the Charge 2, I am assuming it is a refurbished one.
Amazingly, after a week of not syncing, it is now syncing. Obviously, some fix was made some where. I am not holding my breath that it will keep syncing. I am done with fitbit. There has to be a fitness tracker that has better customer support than this.

My Fitbit Charge 2 suddenly stopped syncing a few weeks ago. I only want to use the web page dashboard the way that I have always been using it and cannot even find anywhere to set up the Fitbit Charge again. When I look in my computer bluetooth settings is is happily paired but the dashboard on my computer says that it cannot find it. Really what is the point if I cannot have my exercise synced from my Fitbit to the Dashboard, particularly important to me is the sleep pattern which of course I am not getting anymore either. If I go to add a new device it just takes me off to a sales page and to 'get the Fitbit App to set up your device' but I don't want to download an app even if I could.
You have my sympathy because this is so frustrating to many people. Some people talk about an update but I can't even find out where to update the firmware on my Fitbit and it was working fine since I got it in November .. crazy .. crazy. .. crazy

Hi,
I have recharged my Fitbit several times since it stopped syncing - can you tell me how you manually synced it once you got the logo when it was on Charge. I don't think that I have ever manually synced it, it just automatically synced itself every 15 minutes or so.
thank you for such a helpful post.
Edit
I am having exactly the same issue .. where are you supposed to get the install from? There is supposedly an app to download but I have been happily working from my Fitbit Dashboard on my windows 7 computer and I don't really want to have an app running even if I could find the download. The other thing is that the bluetooth settings on my computer say that the Fitbit is paired but the Fitbit dashboard on my computer says that the Fitbit cannot be found ... ggrrr
Edit 2
How do you sync from your desktop, I have never seen a way to do that? do you use the dashboard at www.fitbit.com?
Also how to you 'install the fitbit program on your computer', again I have just been using the www.fitbit.comdashboard and it was fine until a couple of weeks ago.
thanks for the help ![]()

I'm using a Galaxy Tab a, and am such a klutz with these new fangled
devices, I'm probably no help. (My first computer was an IBM System 360,
and filled a large room, and this **ahem** tablet doesn't even have a card
reader.) I just open the app, and it says it has a firmware update
available, so I hit the red arrow thingee, and it starts searching for the
charge 2, and eventually quits saying can't connect via bluetooth. But
since the table connects with several other devices via BlueTooth, the
problem is clearly with either 1> The Charge 2 device, or 2> the Fitbit app.
Good luck.
Edit
Go to fitbit.com/setup to download the app for Windows. Mine won't synch
with either the Windows or Android versions. Good luck. Try a o2 vibe
sleep monitor from Amazon ($200) or Costco($150). It actually works, and
great customer service. And their app synchs right up, and gives you a
nice graph each morning of how your sleep went.
I have now purchased a device which does work really well for monitoring
sleep.
o2 vibe sleep monitor, $200 on Amazon, $150 at Costco. And it even synchs
like a charm.

@walksinlight - That's the same problem I was having. And customer support would just send me the link to an article and say to try that. And when it wouldn't work, they would just send me the link to another article. This kept going on and on. And every time things just got worse. Do NOT uninstall the software from your computer and attempt to reinstall. That's when mine really messed up.
Unfortunately I spoke too soon when I said mine was syncing today. It synced twice. Now it is not working again. For the price of these things, they should work better and should have much better customer support.
Edit
You can manually sync from your computer by going down to the fitbit icon in the bottom right of your screen. If you right click on the icon, there is a place that says 'Sync Now'. Just click on that. Good luck!
Edit 2
@walksinlight - Go to this link to download the software. Just hit the button that says 'Download For Windows' near the bottom of the page. If it is like mine, it will come up and only give you the option to uninstall because it will say it is already installed. Do NOT uninstall. That is when mine really got screwed up! And no one in customer support could tell me how to fix it. They just offered a replacement tracker, which of course won't work if my computer isn't working!

@walksinlight - Sorry I forgot to add the link to download the software for a laptop. It is www.fitbit.com/setup. If you scroll down towards the bottom, you will see a button to download for Windows.
You should have the blue icon on your taskbar at the bottom right of your screen. If you don't then it probably is not installed correctly any more. Unfortunately, customer support can not help you get it corrected. The only way I was able to get mine to work (and it still is intermittent) was to go to my daughter's house and have her download the app onto her smart phone. I was able to sync with her smart phone. Then she deleted the app from her phone. When I came home it worked on my pc but it is still hit or miss as to when it works.
I don't want it for sleep patterns, I want it for heart rate data. Haven't found anything else reliable to do that. Unfortunately when I uninstalled everything, I think I lost all my data for the last three months. There has to be a better product out there!

Crazy my charge 2 hasn't synced up since 3-20-2019 at 9something at night. It keeps telling me to restart my bluetooth on my phone which is a bunch of BS because my bluetooth is working just fine because I use it all the time by syncing it to my car 🤦:female_sign:.
I'm getting really annoyed because it isn't syncing so MyFitnessPal App isn't accurately logging my full calorie burn and other stuff. Of course something like this would happen after me and my husband join a gym and start working out together. I can't believe that this is happening to so many people and it hasn't been fixed or brought up as a known issue. Maybe it is finally time for me to get a Samsung Smartwatch or a garmin.
Edit
So basically every March Fitbit has issues syncing the charge 2's ans account to FB other devices as well. Wonder if the whole spring fwd thing screws something up in their system then. It is a little weird that almost exactly a year ago people were having this same issue.

I just realized today that my Fitbit has not synced for a week. It must be something with Fitbit by the comments.

thanks, I bought mine from Amazon. Big mistake. Return policy is one of great benefits of Costco.
