Charge 2 won't sync

My Charge 2 has been syncing just fine since January.  Worked fine Monday.  Now it says it can't find my tracker to sync.  I have not changed anything on my laptop (I do not have a smartphone, only hooked up thru laptop).  I have rebooted the computer several times.  Unplugged and reinstalled the dongle.  It says it is finding the dongle but when I try to sync, it can't find my tracker.  I have also reset my tracker several times.  Any help?

Ive had the same problem - My last Charge 2 stopped working right after the warranty expired, but was offered a "discount" to purchase a new one.  Which I did in October.  Now it won't sync, and it registers that I've walked thousands of steps a day.  I've done all the obvious things restart, update, on all devices. 

I GIVE UP!!!!  Should have gone with my gut and not purchased another one.

Oh goodness, what a cheek to ask you to buy another. Well I have spent all morning trying to get it to work, I will take it back to the retailer, it is covered under the Sale of Goods Act and it is clearly not fit for purpose! I won't be having another one, that's for sure.

@katidyd @Susanrufus @PAT971 @LLFCC  Could you confirm if you are still having syncing issues? If so, would you provide us with your phone model, so that I can investigate more, and provide you with further support?

In the meantime, please verify if your app needs an update, as we have released a new version during this days.

I got my charge 2 a couple Christmas ago....and it hasn't synced to my phone for some time now. I guess a good month or more. Pain In my butt cuz I've tried everything they suggest to fix it. NOTHING WORKS! I actually had a replacement one I was gonna set up, but cant even do that. My screen had a minor crack in it so Fitbit sent me a replacement.  I just never tried to get new one going cuz my cracked one still worked.The charge 2 works but just dont sync anything.  This is very frustrating!

I confirm that I am still unable to sync my Charge 2, there is not a model number on the box or anywhere on it. I sync it with my Galaxy 10 tablet which I have done since Christmas Day when I received it.

I have also downloaded the FITBIT set up on my laptop due to the sync issue and it will not sync on there either.  I have plugged in the dongle and the watch is now fully charged yet it claims to by only half charged when I try to sync.

As it is still under warranty I intend to return it to the retailer for them to deal with it under the Sales of Goods Act as we are in the UK as it is not fit for purpose.

I too have been unable to sync my fitbit for the last month. It has worked fine for the last year. I have done everything but it just refuses to sync. I am going to contact customer support this afternoon but will probably not get any resolution. Time for an Apple product I suppose.

I am very surprised that they are waiting for my reply, they are not telling the truth.  Support has NOT contacted me at all. I went to my retailer who told me that other people had taken their Charge 2 Fitbit watches back as they had similar problems.  I was also informed that the Charge 2 is discontinued.  Therefore they permitted me to have a Charge 3 instead, which I have started using today. Lets hope I don't have an issue with the Charge 3.

@Susanrufus  support contacted me and I had already tried everything they suggested. Then they proceeded to ask me what kind of device I was using and when I gave them my phone model they then started saying that the model of phone I am using hasn't been tested with the Fitbit app yet and suggested I try other approved devices..... I'm sitting her like WTF I've been using the app with no issues for A YEAR! Then they came back very rude and told me to just try another device yeah because I have that kinda money to just go and buy one of their "approved" devices 🙄🙄🙄🙄 one twice I got a reply from the same CSR every email was signed by a different representative.  I'm looking into getting a Samsung smart watch now because Fitbit clearly doesnt care about their customers.  

 

I use a Galaxy Note 8 how in the heck hasn't this phone been tested with Fitbit it is already out of date as the note 9 and now the galaxy 10s are coming out 😂😂😂😂

I think I have got away lightly then, as I was only using it since Christmas.  Not sure which country you are in, if it's the UK, try Trading Standards, they are very good with products that are obviously not fit for purpose. Good luck!

This is an update on the issue of my Fitbit Charge 2 not syncing when I returned from a cruise in March. Which I was able to sync by rebooting my Fitbit. As of April 3rd my Fitbit wasn’t syncing again which was right after an update was posted. Then yesterday (April 6) my Fitbit quit syncing again.  Other times I was able to reboot my Fitbit in order to get it syncing properly. Now there is definitely something going on with the Fitbit Charge 2s as I continue to receive notices that others are having the same issues. After 16 months of no issues & now all of a sudden three in less than a month tells me Fitbit as ruined the Charge 2s with their updates. I am definitely not happy!

 I’m using an iPhone 7, (an iPhone 6 when I go on holidays), I also have the app on my Samsung tablet. When my Charge2 won’t sync it will sync on none and then when it does sync it will sync on all. The problem is not consistent: some whole days it won’t then on days it did work in the morning it won’t for the rest of the day.  I don’t think it can be said that the problem is my devices but I do think it’s safe to say the problem is on Fitbit’s end. Regardless I am tired of having to play around with something that is supposed to work for me and doesn’t. Every prob I have had with this or my much preferable HR, Fitbit’s ‘help’ has been to offer me a new device at a slightly discounted price. To me that’s not help. Please, just fix this problem already, you have seen enough on this topic to know if you don’t you will lose customers. Like me.

After the reset in March, I was able to sync for the past couple weeks, but it stopped syncing again today. I just did a reset and recharge, so we'll see, but this is REALLY annoying. 

  • Over the last 2-3 weeks, the Fitbit Connect app would not always load when I selected "Sync Now" from my toolbar icon; in those cases, I was able to sync if I selected Main Menu and chose the "Sync Now" icon.
  • Today, the Fitbit Connect app wouldn't load when I selected Sync Now. When I tried to launch it from the main menu icon, the icon would not respond at all when I clicked it.
  • I am using a MacBook Air — the same laptop I've been using successfully since I got the Charge 2. Nothing has changed on my end.

@CathieWalkz- Same problem I am having.  I am using Windows on my laptop.  Some times I can get it to sync with Sync Now, some times with Main Menu, but most of the time it just churns and churns.  My data doesn't do me any good when it is several days old.

@kowallekdi I did the reset again after I had trouble this morning (couldn't sync at all) and it worked OK. It had about a 30% charge, so after I reset it, I left it in the cradle until it reached 100%. After that, I was able to sync through Sync Now, although the app took a little while to load and find the Fitbit.

REALLY annoying is putting it mildly.

 

My app won’t update or display anything since Saturday (4/6/19).

 

When trying to sync my Fitbit to my iPhone app, all I get is a little spinning wagon wheel and a battery display in red (the Fitbit itself shows the current, correct charge of 60%).

 

After almost two years, why the sudden disconnect?

The new one they send most likely won't work either. They sent me 3. I ended up buying the Charge 3 and it still has some syncing problems.  Good luck

I am in the UK and now have a Charge 3, so watch this space. Had sync problems this morning but it solved itself.  Really wish I had never heard of Fitbit !
