Charge 2 won't sync

My Charge 2 has been syncing just fine since January.  Worked fine Monday.  Now it says it can't find my tracker to sync.  I have not changed anything on my laptop (I do not have a smartphone, only hooked up thru laptop).  I have rebooted the computer several times.  Unplugged and reinstalled the dongle.  It says it is finding the dongle but when I try to sync, it can't find my tracker.  I have also reset my tracker several times.  Any help?

I powered off my phone (twice) and it finally corrected itself. 🎉

I got gifted a Charge 2 for last Christmas. It last synced around 11.30pm Thursday evening last week.

Only realised when I got my weekly report email and then went online (Desktop & Windows 10) to see my Dashboard showed zero activity Fri/Sat/Sun.

 

So tried help page - it says click on an "Account" icon (rectangular) - well I cannot find that anywhere on the Dashboard page?

So I cannot find a 'device tile'

So I cannot click on the 'sync icon'

 

Much frustration - Then I found this thread

Having read through it doesn't sound good.

Hi Kram

 

If whoever bought your Christmas present has the receipt, I suggest you do as I did and return it to your retailer.  I live in England and Curry's already had other returns of the Charge 2 and so replaced it with a Charge 3. We only paid a little more, they also told me that the Charge 2 has been discontinued.  Hope this helps, it seems from the forum that their customer support is not very good.

Thanks Susan - I saw your earlier posts - I think mine came via Amazon so I will check with my gifter.

 

What is annoying to me, is the way the help page doesn't reflect the current page I see when I look at my dashboard.

Am I not doing something right, or does everyone else not have this 'account' icon and the ability to hit a button saying 'sync now'.

@KramV, are you syncing to a phone or computer? I am using Fitbit Connect, which shows up as an icon on my MacBook Air toolbar. Usually, I just by choosing "Sync Now" from that drop down. If that doesn't work, my next step is to choose "Open Main Menu..." from the drop down. It has 3 tiles, one of which is Sync Now. 

 

It's Fitbit Connect — NOT the Fitbit Dashboard. After it syncs, it gives you the option to go to the dashboard.

I am on a Desktop PC with Windows.

 

I only seem to have the Dashboard listed on the menu - cannot see anything with 'Connect'

 

Now found something on a help page saying I should uninstall Fitbit Connect anyway???

It may be a little different, because the Mac laptops have built-in Bluetooth.... But my Fitbit Connect app shows up as a diamond-shaped icon in my Mac toolbar at the top of my screen. The menu choices are:

  • Bluetooth 4.0 (which is greyed out)
  • Sync Now
  • Open Main Menu...
  • Manage My Music
  • Fitbit.com Dashboard
  • Online Help...

When all is working correctly, I can choose Sync Now from this menu. If it's not, I choose Open Main Menu and then choose the Sync Now tile. If that doesn't work either, I put the Fitbit in the charging cradle, hold the button in until it resets, then leave it in the cradle until it's fully charged. 

 

I'd be cautious before uninstalling Fitbit Connect — seems some folks have had trouble re-installing it. Ditto for removing your device.

Mine was originally on my Samsung tablet and I had no problem until that weekend.  Then I deleted it from the tablet and set it up on my HP laptop and although it is not marked on the tab bar, there is an icon on the far right hand top corner that if you click it, gives you a lot more information and that is how I found the forum in the first place.

Hopefully Amazon should help, and if your gifter paid by credit card it should be covered by that too.

My Charge 2 has been syncing to both my laptop and my android phone. It stopped syncing April 1, and I have patiently tried to walk thru all the suggested steps to resync. Now what, Fitbit? How long was the warranty for?

I have also owned my FitBit for two years and have had intermittent problems with syncing and able to remedy, but not this time. For several days the sleep log will not sync and random non-existent automatic workouts have been logged. I don’t mind paying for quality, but not for inferior products. When will the tech world realize many consumers do not want to spend hours in a maze of emails, texts and on line tutorials for a product that is simply expected to work?

I have had my Charge 2 about a year and it just stopped syncing.  Keeps looking for it.  It has always worked fine till a few weeks ago.  I have tried everything and can't get it to sync to my iPhone anymore.  By reading these responses sounds like a lot of other people are having the same problem.

Hello, I have the same problem as you. Firstly I have had problem with automatically sync, so I have had to do it manually. Click on icon to sync. Now I cannot find my Charge 2 in my mobile phone. It seeems like something is wrong with bluethooth connection. I reinstall app, restarted mobile phone, restarted devide Charge 2 and NOTHING. I am really pissed off. Now I am trying to turn off it (to mean battery with 0%). Then we will see how is going...I will you inform after that. But I am not optimistic about it.

@KramV  - On the bottom right corner of your screen, you should have several icons that tell you whether you are connected to the internet, etc.  If you click on the up arrow among those icons, it will show you the hidden icons.  There should be a blue and white icon.  Right click on that and it gives you several options, one being 'sync now' and one being 'main menu'.  In theory, you should be able to click on either of those to sync up.

 

Unfortunately, it usually takes 8 or more tries to load, or else it comes back with 'can't find tracker' and you have to try again.  I have been unable to sync mine again since Monday.  I don't have time to sit around for several hours trying to get the program up and/or locating the tracker.  Can't get in enough steps for the day if I spend most of it at the computer trying to fix their problems.

I am having the same problem. Had the fitbit for over a year with no problem, just 2 hours ago stopped syncing.  I have followed all the help issues to no avail. Deleted the app and re-installed it but that also did not help. Really frustrated as I use it all the time. Is there a software problem

mine do the same thing....and because I bought it from a friend who has won it.....they told me that they can't do nothing for me.

Strange. After I posted this I chatted with them to no avail and then
someone emailed me directly and sent me. Link of steps to follow... Which I
went through and did the first time in march.. but after I did it this time
it synced..
