Charge 3 GPS tracking not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This is my fourth Fitbit and I've been at it a long time.  About the time the Charge 3 came out my Charge 2  GPS functionality stopped working properly.  Finally, in frustration I got a Charge 3.  The GPS worked fine until the Charge 4 came out and now the Charge 3 GPS isn't working properly.  I'm frustrated again and  will likely get a new fitness watch.  My brand loyalty is shaken and I'll be more discerning in the future.

@pjf53 It's great to see you in the Community!

Let me help you with you GPS data on your Charge 3. The Charge 3 doesn't have a GPS chip so it uses your phone's chip to track this data. You can try the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

I also moved your post to the correct board.

Let me know how it goes.

I have the same problem posted here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-3/Charge-3-doesn-t-track-GPS-information-automatically/m-p/43...

I have followed all of the suggested troubleshooting steps and the problem still persists.

I've tried all the fitbit fixes I have run across for 3 months with no joy.  This one did it. It wasn't the charge 3 at all. Thank You!
