Please could you either;
Roll back the update to allow us to control the Fitbit with the apps please
or;
allow us the option of controlling the screen dimness and alarms in the app as well as on the fitbit
Please...
my Fitbit, while working, has a completely dark screen, but shows a happy smiley face when I ask it, so I know it is the update and not the Fitbit...

Check you are not in Sleep Mode, keeping the screen dim.

Sadly I have chosen to leave the Fitbit family after continuous use and 5-6 models of Fitbit. This Charge 3 did me in. Started using it in January 2019. It never synced continuously like the Charge 2, I couldn’t get notifications ever, had to pair it every time I wanted to sync it, an update killed my alarm that was working and this dim issue started slowly to nothing at 6 months to last week. I have tried every fix multiple times. It does still count steps, keep heart rate and look at sleep. Time to change. Planned obsolescence getting worse with each model I think!

How? I cannot see the screen at all and there is nothing I can find on the app to help. I have tried to reset it to no avail.

I have the same issue ... watching the screen fading away day by day. Did a 18sec long reset a few days ago while I can still see some faint lines. Now it is just a fitbit that's on my wrist which I can't read anything... although I did notice it still syn my steps. So I fully agree that it is the update and not the fitbit.

I also have the same issue. Everything is super dim. The only way I can see it is if I am in a dark room. This started happening after the last update.

Ik heb hetzelfde probleem.
De slaapmodus is niet te zien dus valt daar niets aan te veranderen....

Press and hold the side button...for a couple of seconds. A screen will appear with Do Not Disturb and Sleep Mode....Check to make sure you are NOT in DND mode...had the same issue this solved it for me. good luck

I’ve done all that & now my Charge3 is totally black. I use to be able see the screen in a completely dark room & now I can’t see the screen at all. This all happened after the hardware upgrade.

That is exactly what happened to my Charge3; a slow fade to total black. It counts steps, heart rate & sleep, but can’t read the screen.

Turned off DND & sleep modes-made no difference

That will only work for so long. I did the same-changed the brightness, turned off sleep mode & DND. It slowly fades to black over time. Maybe you have a newer Charge3, but the older ones don’t recover.

I didn't know there was a 'settings' selection. But the wrist motion doesn't light-up the screen, I still have to push the button.

This did not work; and had to go into a closet with the door shut to see anything at all!

The Fitbit has a settings feature. I did not know this until recently. Press the button on the left of the Fitbit, then swipe to the left 4 times. That brings you to settings. Click on "settings," and pick the brightness. For some reason, mine had been set to "Dim" automatically. I did not choose that....ever.
My Fitbit also doesn't display if I move my arm; it did in the past. Now I have to wake it up by pressing the button on the left.
