Charge 3 Silent Alarm stopped working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My alarms were working fine until last week when I had to change them.  They are showing in the app and on my charge 3 correctly but it had stopped vibrating at the set time. In fact nothing changes on the screen at the set time. I've looked at other threads and deleted the new alarms, sync, set new alarms, sync..... But it still won't work.  It had also stopped tracking sleep but the urgent issue is the alarms.  What to do from here?

Spoiler
I am also on my second Charge 3, got this one maybe 6 weeks ago or so. Yesterday morning it did not wake me, thank god I had an alarm set on my phone as back up.

However I usually restart the fit bit and turn the alarm on and off again. Sometimes I delete the alarms and re-add them.

Last night I did none of that, I simply left the app running in the back ground as opposed to closing it (swipe the app up in an iphone) and just 20 min ago it woke me up.

It is one time, I am not doing any victory dances hahaha but I will be doing that again tonight and see what happens.

Has there been any update to this? It started happening to me in December 2019 and we should have to continually reset the device just for an alarm. Please give us an update on how this is being resolved.

I bought a Garmin as a result of the lack of action by Fitbit - Garmin works brilliantly

I got my new one (they sent me a new one) back in Sept 2019 after having the issue for months.

I have not had the issue again, it has worked every time. I have 2 alarms set a day, Mon - Fri and they always go off.

I email FitBit every other week on my email thread for my "case" have been doing this since about October - They always reply with the same - we're sorry, we're working on it etc

I emailed them today as mine is still not working - It's only 5 months old - and said I am tired of the apology's, hearing they're working on it etc - and said I want a new Charge 3 sent to me.

If this one fails I am done, I have told everyone possible of this issue.

FitBit is more concerned with rolling out new things and making money on their "premium" pay services - which are not worth paying for- than helping cuttent loyal customers.

Yep - mine still is inconsistent. Have to do the reset process once a week. Very disappointed. I gave up after two replacements.

I am also having the same problem with my Charge 3.  It has been very inconsistent since I got it, but this week I reset my Charge 3 after missing my morning alarm 4 out of 5 days.  I reset my Fitbit according to your instructions 4 times this week.  It works fine for the rest of the day, then starts missing alarms again the next day until I reset it again.

I’ve had an Alta and now a Charge 3 with exactly the same problem. It’s so annoying, the only way to make it work for a few weeks is to delete all the alarms and input them again😡😡.

This will be my last Fitbit , time to move on to another brand even though my latest is 97% awesome but 3% aaargh!!

I totally agree! Everything else on my Charge 3 is awesome and works like a charm with no issues.  I have to remove all the alarms, reboot the watch and add all the alarms back every Sunday evening. I am lucky if the alarm works four consecutive days. It usually craps out on Thursday. They tried to offer me 80.00 off the ionic with no refund on the charge 3 when I complained after the second pebble replacement.  That would have equated to me paying 200.00 for the Ionic and if memory serves me correctly is the same price or less at retail. If they can't get the alarm to work on one of their products, why would I believe they did on the Ionic? Ridiculous!

Which Garmin did you purchase? I am considering the same move.

Thanks

My Fitbit Charge 3 is only 3 months old and this morning for some reason, my alarm did not go off, making me late for work. This is extremely frustrating. I can see no reason it should not have worked. Apparently I cannot trust it and will have to go back to using my alarm clock.

I also just noticed that my Fitbit Charge 3 did not track my sleep on Wednesday or Thursday, but now it's showing that I slept 8 hours on Friday, which hasn't even happened yet.

Here is the current silent alarm issue with Charge 3.  You can only set the alarm once.  Once you toggle the alarm off you would need to reboot your Charge 3 and reset the alarms from scratch.  For example.  Say you initially set alarm to go off every day at 6am.  Saturday night you decide you want to sleep in so you toggle the alarm off.  Sunday night you toggle the alarm back on.  This Sunday night "toggle on" won't work anymore.  In order for your alarm to work again, you have to reboot your charge 3 and then set your alarm from scratch.  Fitbit just told me this is a known bug in the software bug fix queue.  There is no set date to have this fixed.  I read some where that the Versa 2 does not seem to have this bug.  Not sure if that is true as I would assume the base software is the same between the two trackers.  Good luck everyone.

This may work for some but it is not accurate for all. I say this because I have the Charge 3 and I toggle mine on and off many times a week. Especially now in the Pandemic, one day I work so the alarm is on and the next two I do not so I toggle it off, then I toggle it back on again and so on and so forth.

Honestly since I got my new Charge 3 the issue has not happened for me again.

I don't believe that reasoning - I just received a replacement yesterday for the one that was defective since the day I purchased it in August- Set my alarm for this morning ( yes I did set a back up on my phone because I just knew it wouldn't work) and sure enough the alarm DID NOT GO OFF ! Now this was a Brand new Charge 3 replacement - freshly charged NEVER toggled off alarms etc - set the alarm to wake me - nope didn't work.
So their reasoning for alarms not working as they should isn't true for mine - and this is TWO Charge 3's SAME alarm issue!
