When I swipe over to Weather on my Charge 3, it never works and says to try syncing with my phone... That doesn't work either. Any insights?

Yes, the Charge 3 is a product that should not have been foisted on the public, however, because I liked the original and the Charge 2 so much, I decided to retire the Charge 3 and replace it with the Versa (I was wary of their new Versa Lite because of the Charge 3 disappointment). Magically, all the ills of the Charge 3 are not present in the Versa — it's the best FitBit product I've yet owned. Syncing is very fast, auto-recognition of exercise type works quite nicely and it updates weather on the fly. My local Walmart sells it for $179 vs $200 on the FitBit site.

Thanks for the info, DavidEasy. Foisted is the perfect descriptor! They should take my Charge3 and nice band in trade!!

i saved up for months to buy the charge 3 bc my sister liked her charge 2 so much. Fitbit should voluntarily take them back as a trade in because I have nothing but trouble with it. Weekly something doesn’t work, from the weather to counting steps to stairs to exercise to synching everything about this device is a hassle. Such a huge disappointment

I saw your post and replied to it directly. I saved my money for this Charge 3. I do not have another 200 to sink into another product merely months after getting this one. The solution to buy a different Fitbit is ludicrous. Fitbit should make good on the money they took from us for the Charge 3.

My weather has been working but my stair counter is accurate one day, not the next, or just stops counting after a certain number despite all the troubleshooting efforts (I’ve been in chat with support on Twitter too often) if it’s not that, it’s something else with this device. A total lemon.

Having problem getting weather on my new Fitbit charge 3

For all those struggling to add two additional cities to the weather app on a Charge 3,

I struggled for many minutes. Then, I changed ‘Lowell, IN’ to ‘Lowell, IN, US’ then went

back and synced my phone and Fitbit. Lowell showed up as expected. Did the same

with Port Charlotte, FL, US, synced phone to Fitbit, and it, too was added. Happily, I saw the message “Cities limit reached.” This leads me to believe when you enter a city name, you must also enter the state AND country.

If I had continued struggling all night, the current instructions (that have been repeated verbatim from the manual) would never have helped.

Enter city, state abbreviation, COUNTRY abbreviation. That is how I finally got it to work for me.

NO. it works but after a 1/2 or so day it will update and then tomorrow or later it will get the same "sync" your phone" error.  it's not worth having to sync my phone to get weather updates each time I have to sync to phone, i'll just check out the weather app!!! It also now has a little at the bottom up to 10 hrs or so and won't sync the temp.  It's at 90 degs and the watch still show 68 degs!

YES, after the last update o/s. it will not sync correct.  get the little time at the bottom and goes over 10 or so hours.  when I sync on phone it'll just stand all day some times.  sometimes it'll sync after a several hours and then crash.  most days it'll say again to sync to the phone.  I have update the app and it is setup correct (i think) and the phone is setup.  I think i'm going a apple watch but the cost...

also, i talked to fitbit for several days and they don't have a clue what is going.  they sent a email to me just wait, we'll get it working.  oh well...  don't hold your breath...

My weather solution is still working on my Fitbit Charge 3. Perhaps there is more “wrong” with your device. Have you tried removing the device from Fitbit and your phone and setting it up again? After you remove from phone, be sure to turn phone off for a minute or so before you add the Fitbit back to your account and phone. Your issue sounds like a very confused configuration going on between your devices causing your anomalies.

Hi and thank you for helping me:

What I have done now:

I clicked on the fitbit app and removed the change 3.  It says now "Edit" and I just left it alone and deleted to app from the phone. I looked at system on the iphone and 'forget' bluetooth from fitbit

then i deleted the fitbit app and AccuWeather app and then I shut down the phone and left it 'OFF"

I then I went to the watch and go to 'about' and deleted all user data from the watch

then I factory reset with the hold button until the blank bar and the smiley and let it boot the watch

then it booted the watch and showed Jan 1 12:00.  weather screen shows 'No Data'

then I added the fitbit app with my ID/password and added a Change 3 and did the other stuff setup a watch and verified all the stuff on the iphone asked.  paired to bluetooth etc.  booted the iphone again and synced the watch again. the Weather says Lorton, VA with 76 degs.  shows down at the screen show 40 mins ago.

in about 10 mins ago still show 76 degs.  sync the iphone again and shows 77 degs.

Now I'll just wait.  this worked before for about a day and got the same way errors and will not sync automatic.

BTW, the weather app on the watch was in Apr 3, 2019 76.39 kb, Ver 1.60.39, offer by FitBit.  this is about the time (May 2019) my watch started up errors with the weather.  everything works like it should be except the weather!

Hope you feel better!

The directions they provide are not accurate; they might be “How it was supposed to work” but, unfortunately, not how it REALLY works!!! That is why I love the community boards -

Glad for you!

Update:

1:00 AM   the weather now shows NO date on the temp.  just 2 __ and the deg small o at top icon.

7:00 AM  still the same.  shows down at the bottom shows 11 hours ago.

Oh well, I give up.  I guess I'm ripped off again with new tech with companies will not help.  I have talked several hours and days with Fitbit and they say just wait and we will help you.  I want a refund or send it back to fix it and they refuse to it, fix or refund and it was a xmas present and it did work until they update it.
