Charge 3 - blank screen

My screen started jumping 2 days ago and then went completely blank yesterday. I hace tried reloading and changing the clock face but nothing works. The phone is otherwise responsive - so I can track it using the app on my phone, which is quite annoying.

I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Charge 3 doesn't turn on. Thank you for the information provided and for trying to resolve the issue before contacting us.

 

Please restart your Tracker by following the steps on this article. If this doesn't help, you can perform a long restart:

 

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable. 
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds. 
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration. 
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur. 
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Thanks for your response. I tried this but my screen remains completely blank. No smiley face appeared at all. My fitbit continues to track my steps but the screen is still blank.

I'm having the same issue.  My Charge 3 screen started flickering a few days ago.  Yesterday I was able to do a reset and change my clock face and it seemed to work.  Then overnight the screen went completely blank.  I have plugged it in and tried to reset as listed above, but I get nothing but a blank screen.  I am still able to get my steps tracked through the app on the phone, so the watch must not be totally dead...just the screen display.

Hello,

 

I am also having the same issue. It started flickering this morning and the display has now gone blank but continues to be responsive although still seems to track stats through the app and syncs fine. I have tried to restart as advised in the troubleshooting steps with no luck.

Would you please be able to log a case with customer support for me also?

Hi - I’m having the same problem. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting tips - but nothing has worked. I can still see my steps through the app and the Fitbit still alerts me to messages but nothing displays. I have it less than a year.

I also have a Charge 3 with a blank screen, but still logs data to the app. I changed the clock face several times and tried your reset advise numerous times. Screen still blank. Please add me to your list.

Hello, My charge 3 has suddenly developed vertical white lines running down the screen, I have tried to do a hard restart and changed the clock face a few times with no fix.

I'm in the same boat. My screen developed streaks a while ago. I kept on changing the watch face and it helped a little. With COVID isolation, I figured I would just live with it since mailing it in couldn't happen. Now that isolation for me has been lifted, the screen is now blank and I purchased it on 6/11 last year! Great timing of obsolescence! I can't get it turn off, I only get two vibrations and then nothing. I have tried changing the watch face and it won't do that. It still vibrates for my alarms and tracks movement. I just tried removing my tracker from my account hoping that adding it back on would work. No luck because I can't see the code I need to enter it through bluetooth pairing. There should be a way to set it up without bluetooth in cases like this. Can anything be done to make it work and is this a fatal flaw in the design?

I also have a Charge 3 with a blank screen. I have followed all of the recommended fixes and it still has a blank screen.

I've also got the exact same issue. Charge 3 has been going dimmer every day and then turned completely black.

My screen is blank as well. The device quit tracking me at 12:46 am yesterday so even that is not working.  I am unable to do a reset. The device is vibrating but that is the only reaction.  It isn't syncing and I'm unable to change the screen.  It was on charger so that doesn't appear to be the problem. Thanks

Hello,

 

I am having the same issue. I restart it and the face works for maybe one minute. However, when I try to do the long restart it doesn’t take and just restarts as normal (smiley face then to clock face). It is still tracking steps, signaling alarms and when I get texts/calls, just the face isn’t working.
