Charge 3 corrupted display, not counting steps correctly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My charge 3 which is 1.5 years old, starts to err. Its display changes to blurry milk white (like broken) with some bold black horizontal lines.

Step counts function gets weird, it always says I achieve the 10k steps whereas I am being a couch potato.

Need help here, sent an email to support but it replied that it is unavilable. Can these problems be fixed or is it time to retire the watch?

@mitava It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community.

Sorry to hear about this. Please try restarting your tracker by following these instructions.

Regarding the steps, your device will detect the movement on your arm and translate that movement into steps. There are situations in which your arm may move but you won't be actually walking. For example, this may happen when you are playing the drums, burping a baby or clapping. It can also happen while driving. You can negate these steps by logging a driving activity. You can try wearing your device on your non-dominant hand but select that hand as dominant on the device’s settings to make it less sensitive to movement.

Hope this helps.

My Fitbit charge 3 is almost two years old and I’ve recently had the same problem with the screen turning milky white and now almost faded completely. I restarted the device as suggested be customer support but it didn’t help. They escalated the issue but the email response I received essentially said my warranty was no longer active and they offered me 35% off a new device. I’m not sure that I want another Fitbit if it will only last 2 years.
