First of all make sure you are putting it in the charger correctly. You need to fully open the "clips" as wide as you can (it will still fit in if you don't open them wide enough but won't make the necessary connection).

Next, hold down the left "button" for around 8 seconds and, if all goes to plan, you should see a smiley face on the screen to tell you it's restarting. You can then release the "button". *fingers crossed this works for you*

Hi, I just purchased the charge3, charged it once, but then it died! The brand new charger seems to be ok. I opened and placed it in the right position. held the left button, nothing. completely dead! any suggestions?  it is really not fair that the company puts out faulty product! I would appreciate any suggestions that can get it started? or is all lost and I should return it.

thank you.

Mag

Update: Also wanted to add that there is no light, it seems completely dead! I haven't got to use it even a day! any idea?

thanks.

You explain how to get a brand new Charge 3 working, but do not explain why it dies. Mine was just a few hours old when it died. Battery was charged to 82% so please explain why it died. If I don't learn why, it is going back for a full refund. Unacceptable.

Hey there @Maggie000 and @ChristianIsland, thanks for jumping in here! Thanks for restarting your Charge 3 in order to sort this out. Nice way to go!

Have you tried charging it at least 1 hour? Even if you don't get anything on the screen I'd recommend charging your tracker at least 1 hour to see if the battery icon comes up after that period of time.

  • Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or a UL-certified USB wall charger.
  • Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.

  • Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.

If after the 1-2 hours you don't get anything on the display, check if the contacts on your tracker or charging cable are not dirty. Dust and debris can accumulate over time and prevent a charge. Try cleaning them by following these instructions.

How do you charge your buddy? Have you checked if by any chance the USB port or outlet is faulty? If you haven't done so, try a different port. A UL-certified wall charger will also work. Don't use a USB hub.

Give this a shot and let me know the outcome!

My Charge 3 is not dead, but the screen is. It is completely charged, it syncs to my phone and to the computer, but the screen is dead. Even the alarm I set up works.

I used it for less than a month. Any suggestions other than calling the customer services?

Thank you,

Isabella

You have to be very careful when charging the Charge 3—it's not as easy as the Charge 2; it's easy to think you are when you are not. Ensure you see a charge level (ie 76%) and then let it charge completely. This solved the problem...at least for now.

I had the same problem. Fitbit Charge 3 dead after two weeks. I did the charging and pressing button for 8 second and it worked. Three weeks after it happened again. Charged, synchronizing with phone, but screen black. When I went through the restarting process again it was just strangely vibrating. Had to get it back to the store I bought it and now I'm waiting for replay from service.

Mine went dead last week, just poof, died, won’t do a thing! Fitbit sent me a new one, arrived today, DEAD, won’t do a thing. What am I supposed to do when it does absolutely nothing? I know my charger is working because my Charge 2 charges with no issues! I think there are too many issues with this 3, I loved mine initially, been good since it arrived in October, but now, not so much!

I have the same problem. I like the product, I’m pleased with my purchase and bought them for all my family; I can still use it and see the display on my iPhone..but it would be quite nice if the screen worked again. And yes, I have repeatedly tried the restart advice, checking there is a good connection and getting buzzed - as yet without joy

After all I got my money back. Authorized service said it is not possible to fix it. I was really disappointed but after reading all user experiences with Fitbit Charge3 I decided to get apple watch. Sorry Fitbit, I was your big fan but Charge3 was big fail 😞

My fitbit charge 3 is full charged. However screen is dead. Green light in back is blinking!

How do I get this back from the dead?

I have node...ask for a new Charge 3. There seems to be a lot of problems with this version, and don't let your warranty expire.

Mine has done the same. Gpot it for xmas and had no problems until I get a  new phone today. Came to syn the new phone and watch together and all of a sudden the screen went blank. Followed all the advice on here with no luck and then 12 hours later it has suddenly turned itself back on again. It still won't connect to my iphone app and the iPhone XR can't seem to find the Fitbit even though they are next to each other.

Any suggestions on this?
