Would be nice to have an option for the clock face to stay on for 30 or 60 seconds. Need to track patients heart rate and respiration, currently have to wear my watch with my Fitbit. I realize it would cause significant battery drain, but I could charge more frequently on my work days

Hello there @tango503! I like your idea my friend. Have you already up-voted for the Longer Screen Time for Charge 3 feature suggestion?

Bought a Charge 3 today. It is my first-ever Fitbit product, and I am returning it tomorrow. Why? Because I want to keep an eye on my heart rate during workouts but I can't because the screen goes black in about two seconds. Given that it is not compatible with the Technogym cross-trainers and stair machines at my gym, that is a deal-breaker.
I will never, ever buy another Fitbit product, either, because the inability to adjust how long the screen stays on is so stupid that I would never want to be at the mercy of your kind of consumer-unfriendly thinking again.

Is this still "under construction"? How do I make the display stay on longer?

Yes! It is really hard to check a patients pulse and keep tapping the screen to turn it on to see the second hand! Drives me crazy! I would live a minute or 30 second screen on time.

I need to know the TIME too. I don't want to have to press it every time I want to glance at my watch.
Can charge every night no problem.

My Fitbit Charge 2 was excellent at showing the time with a quick flip of my wrist. I didn’t have to stop what I was doing or set down stuff in my other hand.
I HATE having to touch the sensor on the Charge 3 just to check the time. Please go back to showing the time with movement from my wrist!

I've got an older Fitbit Surge and was looking at getting a new one. Really like the look of the Charge 3 but not liking the fact the time isn't always visible.
On my Surge, flicking my wrist would make the screen brighter but even after a few seconds the light would dim and the time would still be visible on my watch.
Looks like this idea has been abandoned by the Moderators/Fitbit as the last mod post was mid 2018 and the two links provided still having people posting about this feature being missing this year.
