Charge 3 display is very dim

My Charge 3 display is so dim that I can’t read anything unless I’m in a dark room. I can’t see anything on the display while outside in the sunlight. I’ve tried the normal setting and the auto setting. And today my display is going completely blank. I reset it and changed the clock face. The display came back temporarily for 10 minutes then went blank again.

I telephoned the company yesterday and they are sending me a replacement. So they must know about the problems that

I had it under year so had it replaced new one has a line over steps but
still able to be used so ill deal with it .

I may switch to Apple Watch if I keep having problems.

My experience  with fit bit products i.e Surge and Charge 3 is very disappointing.  It is a pity that both the charge 3 units that we purchased  from Costco based on reviews  have become so dim that they are not readable. Please let us know if there is any solution. We may be compelled to seek refund/return to Costco.  Hope to hear soon from Fit bit regarding  remedy.Bharat Bhushan Sent from my Galaxy Tab® S2

There is no remedy other that to replace them. Good thing you got them from Costco as it may be an easy return, as long as their still under warranty.

I’m having the same issue. I called the company and wasn’t offered a replacement. They said they would email me when they pushed through an update that could fix the problem. That was 2 weeks ago. Since then my Fitbit has become worse. My Fitbit is unreadable even in a dark room at this point.

Has anyone got that email yet? Has anyone else been told to wait for the email but called back and received a replacement? I’m not sure why they are sending some people a replacement but telling others to wait for an update.

I contacted them again today and got the same response.  They are working on an update.  Looking at the thread this issue is a known one and they have been working on an update since spring 2019.  I work IT and know that is not the norm in handling customer complaints in regards to software issues.

 

I encourage anyone with issues and no satisfactory resolution to reach out to the Better Business Bureau and/or Consumer Affairs.  If Fitbit doesn't want to fix what they caused or take ownership of their issue let them deal with the Better Business Bureau.

If it’s still on warranty call them & insist on action. They’ll go through a series of checks to reset it & if still dim or no longer able to view it then they’ll email you a choice for replacement or 50% discount off another fitbit smart watch. You have to log on & choose option within 30 days. I ordered the FitBit Versa 2 today & will receive in 7 business days.

Good luck I sincerely hope that it serves you for a reasonable amount of time. It appears that the products of Fitbit’ are yet to achieve the standard. In short it is sub standard

Insist on replacement. I don’t think there’s software fix or it would be done already! I’ve ordered a FitBit Versa 2 from the 50% discount offer that I received & hope it works well. You can get replacement or 50% discount offer. I compared Fitbit’s & chose different one. Good luck.

I had an apprehension that soft ware fix is just to divert our attention
and also to gain time to think about this problem of a great magnitude
being faced by Fitbit. It is developing products one after another. The
haste makes waste. So reliability is rather poor.

I have tried the long reset as per the suggested fix. 

It doesn’t work.

I have tried all procedures normally known. None has taken care of the problems.  It appears to be design related problem.  Good business practice demands that Fitbit should redress the problem. I wonder if they are aware of the complaints from almost every user.

I’m in the same boat, Basinboy.  Mine is 13 months old, so no replacement for me.  It sounds like the replacements are failing too, so it’s not that big of a deal.  Fitbit’s quality control really sucks.  They are too expensive to only last a year - or less.  I also have an Alta that I’ve had for a while, but when that one fails, I’ll be checking out other tracker companies.

When I tried to adjust the brightness on the screen of my fitbit charge 3 it went t dark and now I cant see anything
