Charge 3 display issues

I had the same problem with my original Charge 3, first of all the screen got dimmer and then I had several lines across the center of the display. This has now happened to my replacement pebble, to the extent that I cannot read the date at the top of the screen, with a few more lines halfway down the screen too, impossible to see any display in the sun.

 

I have tried the various resetting as per instructed last year but it's not rectifying the problem. Is this a common fault with the charge 3 or does it happen with other models. If so I'm not impressed that in the space of 18 months both have had these issues?
