I was having issues with my fit bit not showing notifications, I plugged it in and now it won't turn on and when I plug it in, it gets hot. It isn't turning on but still gets hot when I charge it.

My Fitbit Charge 3 now has to be charged daily, and it started getting hot while charging it this morning.

Mine just started doing this today as well! After I updated on Friday, my battery is having to be charged daily because it is draining. Now it is not turning on or vibrating, and it is getting very hot when I put it in the charging cradle!

WOW! What is absolutely amazing to me is how many people are having this issue, myself included. Yet when I contacted Fitbit about it, I was told I needed to mail the unit back to them, even though my unit was less than 6 months old and purchased through their website. And while I was assured my case would be “expedited” I am still waiting over two weeks for my replacement unit and nothing yet. I also learned that the label they sent me to return the unit, while appearing to be a normal Fed Ex label, was some sort of reduced rate Fed Ex ground service that went through SEVEN separate Fed Ex facilities in its journey from CT to Indiana and took a total of nine days. Snail mail would have been far quicker and more reliable. I am very surprised by the person who thought Fitbit’s customer service was good. I’ve found them to be deceptive and unresponsive. I’ve spent many frustrating hours trying to contact them by chat, phone, AND email in order to get any answers. And I still have no idea when the replacement for my less than 6 month old unit will arrive. This was my third Fitbit and it will definitely be my last. That is, if the replacement I was assured would be expedited ever arrives.
Maybe they should focus their efforts on fixing the overheating issue??? Clearly it is a serial problem. Then we wouldn’t have to worry about the shabby way they treat their customers.

Interesting that these complaints are all similar and happening within months of each other. Mine was gifted in May and started losing charge quickly and suddenly after working fine for 2-3 months. Then it became unresponsive and would get very hot after being plugged in for a minute. Support immediately asked me to return it for my free replacement as I said it got hot during charging. Maybe they sent out a batch of defects a few months back and everyone is experiencing the issues now. Hoping that's the case and not just foreshadowing of what is to happen to my replacement I just received. Otherwise support was nice and replacement came within two weeks.

My Fit bit 3 was working fine. Then it just stopped would not recharge. I've tried it a few times as the reset the way support told me. Holding button down while charging ECT. Now it just gets extremely hot while in charger. Nothing seems to be helping. I've enjoyed wearing it to keep track of what I'm doing while recovering from Guillain-Barre. It helps to keep me motivated and shows my progress. It's an important tool for me to keep track of my progress. If this issue cannot be resolved please let me know. My wife has had the same issue except it doesn't get hot. It just won't recharge

I have the same problem since tonight. Came home and plugged my empty Fitbit in the charger. It won't charge but it is getting very hot and I can't turn it on.
Any advise on how to fix the issue?
Thanks for your help.
