Charge 3 issues due to update

I have a Charge 3 under 18mths old that is not working now after the update to 28.20001.88.11.

Looking at other comments , I have tried every process that has been mentioned and nothing is happening.  What can be done to correct this update that has obviously caused the fault.

factory hard reset:

For this my charge 3 was NOT linked to my phone since that was connected to my charge 4. Don't know if that matters.

Charger not connected to watch, on watch swipe to settings/about/"Clear user Data" and press that.

I have tried "clear user data" reboot option,

I have also tried the remove fit bit app from phone, turn off phone etc etc
and nothing has worked

was phone linked or de-linked when trying clear user data? try de-linked (I say only because mine happened to be when I stumbled on it...)
