Charge 3 screen is super dim

I can barely read the screen on my charge 3. If I’m in any kind of light you can forget about even being able to make anything out on it. I’ve tried to look at the brightness of the screen and it’s normal, I have done the restart on it and it’s made no difference. The center of the screen seems to be the most dim. How do I fix this?

I have found a solution!! I had the same problem and searched the community where it seems that countless other people have had this issue. No one had a solution, even the Fitbit tech people. I was thinking of ditching my Charge 3 like many others, but had a final ‘play’ and found out how to get my screen brighter. Here’s how:

Press the screen until you see ‘DND’ and ‘Sleep’ displayed. If the sleep icon (a moon and stars) is showing then that means it’s on a reduced glare setting so that if you move in your sleep, you don’t get woken by the glare. Tap the sleep icon and the icon, not the word, ‘sleep will disappear. The screen then becomes brighter. I quickly went outside into the sun, where I could still see the display, so fixed!!

I’ve since found that the it can switch back to dim quite easily, but it’s easy to fix.

I’ve done this before, too, and it worked, though I don’t know how or why it went into that ‘mode’. But now I have a black screen. I wouldn’t see DND if I could get to it. 😕

That’s not good. All I could suggest is going into a very dark room and trying then, as sleep mode seems to mean that you can’t see your screen in a light environment at all.

Thanks @Sophie.Con! It worked! It’s still not as bright as my Charge 2, but better than it was.
