Charge 3 syncing difficulties

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My charge 3 takes up to 10 minutes to sync to my phone and I have to refresh the sync about 5 or 6 times for it to work this is so annoying. All day sync, Bluetooth, location, every possible setting to help it sync easier is switched on.

I also NEVER  get notifications come through to my charge 3. The app keeps telling to restart my phone to enable notifications then the test notification works sometimes but never get anything else come through and half the time even the test doesn't work.

The sleep tracking on the charge 3 ALWAYS 'sleep not tracked' even though it shows in the app. Although on the app it does take a very long time to show on the main screen and alot of the time I have to click on the sleep icon to see the data.

The app also takes a very long time to register food information added to My Fitness Pal which is linked to my Fitbit app.

All of these things with my old charge 2 worked fine so what is going on? Same phone, new Fitbit. Thought things would be better not worse.

Hey there @Haze_13, it's nice to see you around here! Thanks for the detailed information provided. While reading your post I was wondering what's the model of the phone you're syncing with? Have you checked if it's included in the article: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

If it's included, I'd recommend doing the following:

  • Make sure that your Fitbit app is up-to-date
  • Log out of your Fitbit app
  • Force quit the app
  • Restart your tracker
  • Turn off the Bluetooth
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes
  • Turn on the Bluetooth
  • Log back into your Fitbit app

Additionally, please see: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

In regards to the sleep stages, make sure that you're getting a solid heart rate reading , since sleep stages requires consistent HR. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight. Also, double check that your watch is charged up.

Additionally, I'd recommend checking the following that could be preventing you from receiving sleep stages:

  • If you used the "Begin Sleep Now" option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed).
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.

For more information about why you see your sleep pattern, tap or click the sleep record that shows your sleep pattern.

In addition, I think it's great that you update the Fitbit app to the latest version (iOS and Android). I always recommend keeping both the tracker and the Fitbit app up to date with the latest versions.

And for the inconvenience with MyFitnessPal, I recommend to unlink the accounts and them link them again. Doing this should be able to resolve any issues between the account.

To do that, follow these steps:

1. Sign into your Fitbit dashboard.
2. Go to the Applications settings on your account.
4. Under MyFitnessPal, click "Revoke Access."
5. You can then re-link the two accounts.

Hope this helps my friend! Smiley Happy

Just restarted and re-synced and it's working well now.  Still wonder why it says Sleep not tracked on my device but it shows on the app.
